2018 Season - Week 9
Buses
You know the saying, how you have to wait ages then 2 come along at once. Last week after 8 years Johnnie returned to Scoring Hall of Fame and this week he scored 50 points. Johnnie has now been in the Hall 12 times moving ahead of H with the 5th most visits.
Mid-Season Report
Johnnies big fortnight now see him leading the Papas Fritas by 37 points in his search for “one for the thumb in the BUMS”, his phrase for his attempt to win a fifth title. With Alvin Kamara franchised at $0.5m and Patrick Mahomes at $1m he could be about to start a dynasty. Talking of, Craig is still looking to be the first owner to win three consecutive seasons as he is second with Marcus currently the only other contender for the Papas Fritas trophy. After 4 weeks Marcus had a 30 point lead with 189 points but in the following 5 weeks he has scored just 126 points. Andy H, Aaron and Cheryl are in mid-table while at one point on Sunday Ron, Chief and George were all on 208 points with Chief dipping his toe in the relegation zone, before Ron and he pulled ahead. Wayne and David Stamp have been suffering from injuries to multiple players so will be looking forward to Trading Day 2. In the Conference Daz leads Mark by 41 which is a great achievement as Mark’s first pick in the 2018 BUMS draft, Todd Gurley who has scored 102 points in his first 9 games! The battle over the final promotion spot is getting spicy, Alex replaced Dave G in third a few weeks ago and a big 39 point week for he and AP sees Tring move into fourth.
Roll on Trading Day 2
If you want to improve on your first half performance we are now just over a week away from Trading Day 2 which is Sunday week, 18th November at HQ starting at 4pm. If you want to trade but can’t get to HQ you can do so by email, online via the BUMS google sheet or by phone, just let me know how you are planning to cut your deadwood. If I don’t hear from you I’ll assume you are happy with your team. There are many reasons owners are looking forward to Trading Day 2, but the key one must be injuries where DeAnthony Thomas, Devonta Freeman, Marshawn Lynch, Ted Ginn and Will Fuller are all BUMS on IR.
BUMS on Seats
We will be meeting at HQ Friday at 6:30pm for Thursday’s game as Pittsburgh (5-2-1) host Carolina (6-2). We’ll be back at HQ from 6pm on Sunday to see the Saints (7-1) @ Bengals (5-3) followed by the Seahawks (4-4) visiting the 8 and 1 Rams. Marcus hosts on Monday to see the SNF game of Dallas (3-5) at the Eagles (4-4) and Johnnie hosts from 6.30pm on Tuesday to watch perhaps the worst Monday Night Football game I can remember as the Giants (1 win 7 losses) travel to San Francisco (2 wins and 7 losses). As always all are welcome, let the host know if you fancy going for catering purposes.
