2018 Season - Week 8
New Name in the Scoring Hall of Fame
Congratulations to George whose Brockley Mud Bugs scored 52 points this week behind his Steel Duo of James Connor and Antonio Brown who scored 2 TDs each. That is his first visit to the Hallowed Marble Halls in 12 and a half years, welcome George. Meantime Johnnie has made it into the Hall for the 11th time, though the first time since 2010. His 54 points taking him top this week, rather earlier than he usually takes over the Hunt for the Papas.
More NFL Points Than Anyone Else Ever
Adam Vinatieri had an amazing Sunday scoring 10 points for the Colts and Rhodesia Rams. That meant he passed Morten Andersen for most points scored in NFL history. Morten had 2,544 while Adam now has 2,550. The other great fact from the game, Colts rookie RB Nyheim Hines was born in December 1996, 3 months after Vinatieri scored his first points.
BUMS Team of October
The four weeks of October saw 12 teams have bye weeks but for $12.5m the best BUMS team scored an impressive 279 points. However in order to reach our $10m budget you need to replace Antonio Brown (Mud Bugs & Steelers) who scored 30 points but cost $3m, with one of either Davante Adams (Bastards & Packers), Marvin Jones (Raptors & Lions) or Tyler Lockett (Pirates & Seahawks) each of whom cost $0.5m and scored 3 TDs. At receiver they join DeAndre Hopkins (Green & Texans) and Adam Thielen (Rhodesia & Minnesota) who both cost $1m and scored 24 points each. The Head Coach of October is Bill O’Brien (Leamington & Houston) with four straight wins for 24 points, costing just $1 million (Bill Belichick also had 4 wins but cost $2m). Harrison Butker (Bastards & Chiefs) cost $0.5m for 43 points kicked. Sofa & KC QB Patrick Mahomes put up 42 points for his $1m salary with running backs Todd Gurley (Wolverines & Rams) 56 points for $3m and Kareem Hunt (Echidnas & Chiefs) 36 points for $2m. A total of 267 points in the month.
