2018 Season - Week 7

Late Newsletter

Apologies for the delay in this week’s update, this was due to Chief taking the Luckiest Woman in the World to Germany for a holiday. However this trip was not a BUMS-free visit as we did see the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark, which many of you will remember from working on or watching an NFL Europe game, was the home of the Berlin Thunder, the franchise which replaced the London Monarchs in 1999. Craig Tops Weekly Scoring This week saw two-time defending Papas Fritas Champion enter the scoring Hall of Fame as his team amassed 50 points. What may come as quite a surprise is that despite those back-to-back championships the Leamington Franchise has only made the Marbled Hall of Fame twice before in 2011 and 2014. Predicting The Four You may remember earlier in the season Craig suggested a game where we should all predict who would win the Superbowl, who would they defeat in the Superbowl, which team would have the worst record and who would be the league’s MVP. This year 11 of 16 BUMs gave their opinions and the consensus is that the LA Rams will be Superbowl Champs (7 votes) and will defeat Jacksonville (4 votes) or Kansas City (3 votes) while Buffalo (5 votes) will be the team with the first pick in the 2018 draft. The MVP race will be between Todd Gurley (5 votes) and Patrick Mahomes (4). The attached sheet has been filed away and the results will be shown after Superbowl LIII in Atlanta on February 3rd. Trading Day The NFL Trading Day deadline is next Tuesday, October 30th and while the biggest name looking for a new home is disgruntled Pittsburgh Running Back Le’Veon Bell, Buffalo and Raptor Franchise RB LeSean McCoy may also been moved. One current BUM was traded last week with Cleveland sending Old England’s RB Carlos Hyde to Jacksonville. Then this week John Gruden negotiated a first round pick from Dallas for former BUM Amari Cooper, as Chuckie continues his complete overhaul of the Raiders roster. Meantime BUMS Trading Day 2 is scheduled at HQ on Sunday 18th November from 4pm. BUMS on Seats And so it is week 8 already and we will not be watching tonight’s Miami/Houston game. We will be at HQ on Sunday from 1.30pm to see the Sky treble-header, starting with Eagles @ Jags from Wembley and followed by Baltimore at Carolina and Packers at LA Rams. We will be at Marcus’ on Monday from 7pm to see a replay of last year’s shock-ending NFC Divisional game as Minnesota host New Orleans and at Johnnie’s on Tuesday at 7pm to see Monday Night Football as New England travel to Buffalo.
