2018 Season - Week 6

Trading Day 1

12 owners traded 26 players on Saturday (one trade less than Trading Day 1 last year). Thanks to Marcus for helping with the Google Sheets & Cheryl for the fine foods as always. If you realise you wanted to drop another player you will have to wait until Sunday November 18th for Trading Day 2 which happens before week 11. David S is already looking forward to that as about an hour after Trading finished Kansas placed his first pickup DeAnthony Thomas on IR. Several trades won’t take effect until this weekend as they involved players signed (one) or cut (three) from either Philadelphia or NY Giants who had already played on Thursday Night Football. Trading Day - What’s the point of that then? It’s always silly to judge owners trading success the day after the trade but it is fun to take a little peek into who made the right move. George saw a 12 point improvement as Pittsburgh RB James Conner replaced Le’Veon Bell and scored twice (it’s like fantasy mirroring reality) while Wayne saw a 9 point uplift as Mitchell Trubisky threw 3 TDs. Meantime Andy H finished at -18 mainly because cut kicker Robbie Gould scored 12 points while Ryan Succop & Tennessee were shutout by Baltimore. Mark was -12 after cut WR Cole Beasley scored 2 TDs while Kenny Golladay was on his bye week. Johnnie was -9 after old kicker Gostkowski outscored new man Parkey 19 to 4. Most Popular/Unpopular teams Chicago & Detroit both had 3 players added into the BUMS rosters while multiple teams had 2 players cut Baltimore, Indianapolis, Philadelphia & Tennessee also had 1 signed each while New England had 2 cut leaving San Francisco as the only team that lost two players from BUMS rosters without a 49er being signed. With 2 Jets and Peterson from Washington being signed all 32 NFL teams are now represented on BUMS rosters, though Washington tie with Buffalo & NY Giants with the least number of players on a BUMS roster (one). Atlanta, Kansas City, LA Rams, New England and New Orleans are now the most popular NFL teams as each have seven players on BUMS rosters, while Detroit, Green Bay, Minnesota and Phili are represented by six players each. Cuts by draft round No matter which round you are selected in, you can still be cut. Three franchise players were cut, Wayne cutting surprising retiree RB DeMarco Murray & Jimmy Garoppolo who San Fran have put on IR while Marcus cut Philadelphia RB Jay Ajayi who also was put on IR. Due to injury Ron cut his first rounder RB Rex Burkhead while Chief cut his first pick as Odell Beckham, like all NY Giants (apart from Saquon Barkley) is dreadful. We also lost 5 seconds and 4 third round picks. We lost 2 fourth round picks while round five saw the most casualties with 5 players drafted in that round cut. There were 3 sixth rounders ditched as well. BUMS on Seats With Chief & the Luckiest Woman in the World in Germany we are not meeting this week but will be back at HQ on Sunday 28th October at 1:30pm for the final Wembley game. Details next week.
