There were no surprises in the Divisional round as each of the higher seeds took care of business. Both of the lower seeds played hard fought contests losing by less than a TD. If Darren Sproles had scored for 16 seed Karori in the final game of the weekend David would have gone through but in the end Daz steered #3 seed Underachieving Bastards through 29-24. Craig’s Leamington squad (#3) outlasted #15 Brockley 24-20 as George was unable to get a TD from Golden Tate in the final game. The biggest win of the week came from AP as Tring (#6) destroyed Ron’s 12th seeded Gang Green 36-14 behind 3 TDs from Sony Michel, 10 points from Dak Prescott and 8 from kicker Will Lutz. In the final game Westmorland (7) defeated Andy H’s Perivale (8) 24-14 as Mark becomes the fourth and final owner into the Championship Round. So Daz (3) will play Mark (7) and Craig (4) will face AP (6) next weekend with the winners progressing to BUMSBowl XXIII. So it was left to the final game of the weekend to provide the most excitement, which it certainly did. Despite WR Michael Thomas making 12 catches for 171 yards and a TD Will Lutz missed a field goal with 3:03 remaining which meant Phili were just six points behind as Nick Foles and the offence took to the field on their own 42 yard-line. After a 16 yard completion to Zach Ertz and a 15 yard Roughing The Passer penalty the Eagles were on the Saints 27 yard line with 2:25 left. However after a completion to Darren Sproles for no gain, Foles and Philadelphia watched in horror as his pass went through the hands of a devastated Alshon Jeffrey and was picked off by Marcus Lattimore and so it’s Rams @ Saints & Patriots @ Chiefs in the Championship games.
