2018 Season - Week 15
A Fortnight Left
Is it time to all go home for Xmas as nothing is happening in the rankings. In reality the week 15 standings are exactly the same as week 14 and if we extrapolate the last two weeks to mimic the final two weeks of the season, as last week, Marcus will win the Papas Fritas from Johnnie while Daz, Mark & AP will replace Wayne, George & David S in the Premiership. The interesting move is margin of victory for the Trophy, last week the predictor had Marcus winning by 79 points, this week that margin is down to just 8!
AFC Playoff Race Still A Mess
Incredibly with two weeks left only two teams have clinched a place in the AFC post season - Kansas City (11-3) and LA Chargers also (11-3). Houston (10-4), New England (9-5), and Pittsburgh (8-5-1) can all clinch this week while Baltimore, Indianapolis, Tennessee (all 8-6), Miami (7-6) and even Cleveland (6-7-1) are still in contention.
NFC Playoff Race No Clearer
Just three teams have clinched post season play. New Orleans (12-2), LA Rams (11-3) and Chicago (10-4) as division winners. Dallas (8-6), Seattle (8-6) and Minnesota (7-6-1) can clinch this week while Phili (7-7), Washington (7-7) and Carolina (6-8) are still alive.
More Injuries
Ron has lost the only NY Jet that was in the league as Isaiah Crowell has been put on IR. Mark has also lost a running back as Ito Smith has also been put on IR by Atlanta & the Pack have put Aaron Jones on IR, H. The replacements deadline is 5pm Saturday please.
BUMS on Seats
Xmas gets in the way of the NFL this week with two games on Saturday night, Washington (7-7) at Tennessee (8-6) followed by Ravens (8-6) at Chargers (11-3). We will watch the second game as-live from 3:30pm on Sunday prior to the Sky doubleheader of Philadelphia (7-7) @ Houston (10-4) and Pittsburgh (8-5-1) at New Orleans (12-2). The Sunday Night game is Kansas City (11-3) @ Seattle (8-6) but we will not be getting together on Xmas Eve to watch it. Then as a great Christmas Present to all of it’s the fans the Monday Night Football game played in the early hours of Christmas morning in the UK is Denver (6-8) @ Oakland (3-11). You won’t be surprised to read that we won’t be meeting over Xmas for that one. Let me know if you are coming over on Sunday for catering purposes. The final weekend of the BUMS and the NFL’s week 17 games will all be played on Sunday 30th December so we’ll be at HQ from 6pm to see them live and find out who wins the 2018 Papas Fritas Trophy along with who goes up and who goes down. Finally I’d like to thank you all for reading the far out ramblings of a madman every week and participating in the greatest league in the world, and wish all of you and yours a Merry Christmas and a very happy 2019.
