2018 Season - Week 11

Trading Day 2

A quieter than expected Trading Day saw 19 players traded by only half the BUMS with a heavy bias to the receivers, (11 of the 19). Marcus was the busiest trader cutting four of his players as he tries to outpace Johnnie & Craig in the Hunt for the Papas. Alex and David S cut 3 apiece. Two trades don’t take place until next week as they featured players who had played on Thursday. The initial analysis of the trading shows Marcus was the most successful, his new players outscoring the old by 18 points. Alex, Andy H and David S all saw their new players outscore their cuts by 6 points while Mark lost 6 points as his cut Franchise QB Derek Car scored twice as new man Baker Mayfield was on a bye. Remember from now on you only have the chance to change a player if he is placed on IR by his NFL team. Keep an eye on your roster it’s your responsibility to advise Chief if one of your players is put on IR. Each week starts with a Thursday Night game so you need to get your new man to Chief by 11pm on Thursday for him to count in that weekend’s action. As always if you cut a Franchise Player placed on IR you still have to pay him til the end of his contract. Any player you put on IR after trading day 2 is still eligible to be your franchise player next season and to this end Daz didn’t cut WR Cooper Kupp until after week 11, replacing him with Bears rookie receiver Anthony Miller. Tre’Quan Smith scores but Alex doesn’t As mentioned above two trades don’t count until next week and it’s cost Alex 6 points. The first receiver he cut was Jimmy Graham who played on Thursday. The first receiver he signed was Saints Smith who scored a TD, but he wasn’t on Alex’s team for week 11. Chief feels Alex’s pain as he had the same thing happen to him a few years ago. Monday Night Magic Nobody signed a Chief or a Ram at TD2 and that may have been a mistake given the incredible scoring fest that broke out. The third highest scoring game in NFL history saw the Rams win out 54-51, the difference was not on offence but their Defense with 5 turnovers and 2 Tds. It was probably the highest scoring in BUMS history with 93 points being scored in the game (over 20% of the whole weeks scoring) from the 12 players involved. Tyreek Hill and Greg Zuerlein scored 12 each while both QBs scored 18 points. That helped propel Daz and Johnnie into the scoring Hall of Fame for the 9th and 13th times respectively. The highest scoring game in history was from 1966 – Washington 72 NY Giants 41 while the second came in the BUMS era. In 2004 Cincinnati beat Cleveland 58-48 but we only had 6 BUMS in that game, scoring a total 46 points. This was the highest scoring game on MNF & contained a number of other records and interesting stats. It was the first time ever a team scored over 50 points and lost, in his 2 career losses Patrick Mahomes team has scored 40 and 51 points and finally last week Tampa Bay put up more yards of offence against Washington than Los Angeles did last night, the Rams scored 54 points the Buccaneers just 3!
