2017 Season - Week 9

Reasons To Be Cheerful (Part 3)

Roll on Trading Day 2 - 1 So we are now just over a week away from Trading Day 2 which is next Sunday, 19th November at HQ starting at 3pm. If you want to trade but can’t get to HQ you can do so by email, online via the BUMS google sheet or by phone, just let me know how you are planning to cut your deadwood. If I don’t hear from you I’ll assume you are happy with your team. There are many reasons owners are looking forward to Trading Day 2, but the key one must be injuries. I don’t know if this is the worst year for injuries in the NFL or just that more of the injured are higher profile stars than usual. By being placed on Injured Reserve (either season ending or the min. 8 week Designated to Return IR) the BUMS have lost over a dozen players including Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck, DeShaun Watson, David Johnson, Dalvin Cook, Greg Olsen, Odell Beckham Jnr and Sebastian Janikowski. Other BUMS players missing significant time include Charles Clay, Dustin Hopkins, Jordan Reed, Kenny Golladay and Terrence West. Roll on Trading Day 2 - 2 Another reason owners are looking forward to TD2 is under-performance but be aware new players don’t always work out as 6 players signed on TD1 have still yet to score for their owners. Bilal Powell, Chris Hogan, CJ Anderson, Emmanuel Sanders, Jordan Howard and Ty Montgomery all looked like great prospects after 4 weeks. That said a good Trading Day has propelled Aaron up the table, he was 10th in the Premiership but picking third he selected KC Kicker Harrison Butker and Tight Ends Rob Gronkowski and Zach Ertz who, just between the three of them, have scored 107 points for him in 5 weeks. Now he is third. Roll on Trading Day 2 - 3 Collectively we should all be looking forward to improving as this week all 16 owners combined to score just 311 points. I always note the scores when we cannot average 20 points per owner in a week and this average of just 19.44 is our worst since week 5 of 2015 and our 30th worst average in our 22 and a half year history. So don’t forget Trading Day 2 - 19th November at HQ starting at 3pm. Let me know how you plan to trade. BUMS on Seats Due to the Lord Mayor of London we will not be meeting for Thursday’s game as Arizona (4-4) host Seattle (5-3). We will be at HQ from 6pm on Sunday to see the Saints (6-2) @ Bills (5-3) followed by the Dallas (5-3) visit to (4-4) Atlanta. Due to work we won’t be gathering on Monday to see the SNF game of the Patriots (6-2) at the (3-5) Broncos and with Johnnie away we will be at HQ from 7.30pm on Tuesday to watch Carolina (6-3) host Miami (4-4). As always all are welcome, let Chief/Cheryl know for catering purposes.
