2017 Season - Week 6

Two Trading Day Successes

I just wanted to point out how successful Trading day can be with a couple of examples. Firstly congrats to Alex who cut his QB after Andrew Luck had failed to make it onto the pitch so far this season. With the first pick in the second round he then took Houston QB Deshaun Watson for $0.5m and has watched him score 27 points in 2 weeks, that’s more than 5 QBs (Bortles, Carr, Dalton, Winston and Ryan) have scored all season! Meantime 39 of the 42 points Aaron scored this week came from the 4 new players he signed on TD1 lifting him from 9th to 5th in the Premiership in a single week. Trading Day 2 Required Injuries to major players since Trading Day 1 mean some owners can’t wait until Trading Day 2. Last weekend Cheryl saw her first round draft pick Odell Beckham Jnr break his ankle and he was placed on IR by the Giants. This week saw Chief’s second year Franchise QB Aaron Rodgers break his clavicle and it’s likely the Packers will put him on IR ruling him out til week 15 at the earliest. Both will be desperate for Trading Day 2 which is at HQ from 3pm on Sunday 19th November, before the week 11 games. The Return of AD Following his release from Minnesota at the end of last season, Adrian “All Day” Peterson was signed by the New Orleans Saints. In his first four games of the season Peterson carried the ball just 27 times for only 81 yards as he struggled to fit into the Saints offensive scheme. On Tuesday last week he was traded to the Arizona who were looking to kick start their ground game following the season ending injury to Craig’s first year Franchise star David Johnson. With just four days in the Cardinal organisation on Sunday Peterson carried the ball 26 times for 134 yards and two scores. Predicting The Three You may remember earlier in the season Craig suggested a game where we should all predict who would win the Superbowl, who would they defeat in the Superbowl and also which team would have the worst record and therefore the first pick in the draft (ignoring trades). I’m pleased to say 13 of 16 BUMs gave their opinions and the consensus is that Atlanta or Kansas City (3 votes each) will defeat Atlanta or Kansas City (3 votes each) while Cleveland (7 votes) will be the team with the first pick in the 2018 draft. The attached sheet has been filed away and the results will be shown after Superbowl 52 in Minnesota on February 4th. BUMS on Tour The BUMS pilgrimage to Oakland continues this week as Aaron, Chief, Marcus and Mark will see the Raiders home game on Thursday against Kansas City. So there will be no BUMS on Seats this weekend. Cheryl will then join Chief for a California Road Trip until November 1st, so newsletters may be out at differing times over the next three weeks.
