2017 Season - Week 2
Predicting The Big Three
Thanks to defending champion Craig who suggested this simple fun little game. He wants you to select who is going to win the Superbowl, who they are going to beat and who will have the first pick in the 2018 Draft. I’ll give you til before the week 4 fixtures for you to make your decisions, so that’s a deadline of 10pm Thursday 28th September but don’t delay or miss out, vote now by return email!
NFL Casualty List Grows
The pain has come thick and fast in the first two weeks of the season. The Colts have already ruled Andrew Luck out for week 3, Aaron’s kicker Sebastian Janikowski is on IR and in week 2 Johnnie’s Panther Tight End Greg Olsen broke his foot and will miss “a lot of games”. H’s receiver Jordy Nelson sustained a quad injury in the first quarter and didn’t return to the Packers game. Rob Gronkowski suffered another injury, this time to his groin, we have no information from the Pats on his return. Fortunately Trading Day 1 is earlier this year, on 8th October before week 5, so there are only two more weeks of action before we can replace the walking wounded.
Leamington’s Defence Starts Now
Despite losing his first year $3m franchise man David Johnson last week the rest of Craig’s team lifted their game and he was week 2’s top scorer with 44 points and sits just one point behind the squad he took the trophy off of, Gang Green. Leamington’s big weekend was spear-headed by Oakland and second year franchise man, Michael Crabtree’s three touchdowns. Now if only Johnson was healthy he could have contributed one TD and put Craig into the Scoring Hall of Fame.
BUMS on Seats
The Thursday game on Sky is the LA Rams @ San Francisco but as it won’t feature Eric Dickerson against Jerry Rice we are not meeting to watch it. Sunday see’s the first of the London games so we are at HQ from 2pm for Sky’s triple header to see Baltimore @ Jacksonville @ Wembley. That’s definite but then at 6pm Sky have conflicting information so we may be watching the Eagles hosting the Giants or Atlanta @ Detroit followed at 9:15pm by Kansas City @ LA Chargers. We’re at Johnnies on Monday at 7pm to see Oakland travelling across the country to Washington on Sunday Night Football and then back at HQ on Tuesday from 7pm to see Monday Night Football as the Cardinals host the Cowboys. As always all are welcome just shout if you want in, for catering purposes.
