2017 Season - Week 16 (Cont)
A Week To Go In The NFC
With victory over Oakland on Christmas Day Philadelphia (13-2) clinched home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Minnesota (12-3) have won the NFC North and currently hold the #2 seed while the Los Angeles Rams (11-4) are the NFC West champions. In the South both New Orleans (11-4) and Carolina (11-4) can win the division, the Saints are currently the 4 seed with the Panthers at #5. Another NFC South team is currently the sixth seed Atlanta (9-6) have the advantage over Seattle (9-6) who are the only other team in contention. All NFL games are on New Year’s Eve and just two time slots but we will not be watching until New Year’s Day so no spoilers please.
IR Replacements
The first week 17 games are at 6pm on New Year’s Eve (GMT) and so the deadline for replacing any of your players who are placed on IR will be 5pm on Sunday. Keep checking the web to keep an eye on your player’s status nfl.com/transactions
BUMS on Seats
As mentioned all the final week’s games will be played at 6pm and 9:25pm on New Year’s Eve and we will be meeting at 3pm on New Year’s Day to see them. First will be New England (12-3) hosting the New York Jets (5-10) followed by Carolina (11-4) @ Atlanta (9-6). As well as the Patriots, the Steelers also play in the early games so home field advantage in the AFC will be decided in the first game while all the other post season decisions will be made in the later games (which we should start watching from 6pm on New Year’s Day). The key AFC games are Baltimore (9-6, win and they are in) hosting Cincinnati (6-9), Titans (8-7) v Jags (10-5), LA Chargers (8-7) entertain Oakland (6-9) and Buffalo (8-7) @ Miami (6-9). In the NFC as well as the game we will watch New Orleans (11-4) will try and clinch the South at Tampa Bay (4-11) but if New Orleans lose and Carolina win, the Panthers will win the South. If the Panthers win and so Atlanta loose, Seattle (8-7) will try and take their place in the NFC wildcards with a victory as they host Arizona (7-8). Please let the Cooper’s know if you intend to visit us on New Year’s Day afternoon to watch the final week of the 2017 BUMS season, so Cheryl can provide a feast for the BUMS. And once again we will not be watching these final games live so do remember, no matter how excited you are, NO WEEK 17 SPOILERS PLEASE
