2017 Season - Week 13 (Cont)
Four Weeks To Go
With four weeks left nobody has clinched a playoff berth in the NFL so far. New England (10-2) can win the NFC East this weekend if Buffalo (6-6) loses to Indianapolis on Sunday or if the Patriots beat the Dolphins on Monday Night Football. In the AFC North Pittsburgh (10-2) are four games ahead of Baltimore (7-5) while the other two divisions are still up for grabs, the Titans and Jaguars are both 8-4 on the South and the AFC West has a three-way tie for mediocrity with Kansas City, LA Chargers and Oakland all 6-6. Only Cleveland has been officially eliminated from the post season so far. The NFC is a fascinating race to the post season and has many more great games to come as seven teams look to battle for the six spots. Chicago (3-9) and the Giants and 49ers both 2-10 have been eliminated from playoff contention. Philadelphia (10-2) can win the East with a win at the Rams (9-3) on Sunday or if Dallas (6-6) loses to the Giants. Minnesota (10-2) can win the North with a win over Carolina (8-4) or if Detroit (6-6) loose to Tampa Bay and the Packers (6-6) give Cleveland their first win of the season. With The Rams holding a one game lead over Seattle (8-4) and Carolina sandwiched between New Orleans (9-3) and Atlanta (7-5) neither Philadelphia nor Minnesota will have it easy. It’s going to be a great last 4 weeks.
Worthy of MVP Consideration?
This quarterback has accounted for an amazing 86% of his team’s offensive yardage which is a record in the Superbowl Era (going back 51 years to the 1966 season). He has been involved (either passing or rushing) in 29 of 30 touchdowns the offence has scored, that’s 97% of them! He leads the NFL in 4th quarter passer rating and has done all this with a rotation of five different starting running backs. Not only are his NFL stats hugely impressive but he also QB’s the Phoenix Fire Warriors at the top of the Premiership. I give you Seattle’s Russell Wilson. If you haven’t seen what an incredible season he is having, check him out on Sky 9pm this Sunday evening.
