2017 Season - Week 11

Trading Day 2

Sunday saw 32 players traded by 13 BUMS though two owners brought back players they cut (Johnnie re-signed Eli Manning & Devonta Freeman and Marcus took back DeVante Parker). There is a 14th BUM who can still trade as AP was away at the weekend but before TD2 did report that he would like to trade before the week 12 deadline. Daz was the busiest trader cutting six of his players while five other owners cut 3 apiece. Four trades don’t take place until next week as they featured players who had played on Thursday. That proved good news for Daz who cut his kicker and replaced him with Steeler Chris Boswell who had already played on Thursday, so he had to keep his current kicker for one more week. As a parting gift Daz’s (now ex) kicker Nick Novak scored him 18 points in the LA Chargers win over Buffalo. The initial analysis of the trades, shows Cheryl was the most successful, her new players outscoring the old by14 points. Chief yet once again ended up with a negative score as he cut Charger WR Keenan Allen who scored two TDs an hour after Chief cut him. One of his new signings, Marvin Jones, did score one TD so Chief ended up on minus six points from his trades, as did Marcus and Mark while Johnnie finished worst off at minus 7 after swapping kickers. Remember from now on you only have the chance to change a player if he is placed on IR by his NFL team. Keep an eye on your roster it’s your responsibility to advise Chief if one of your players is put on IR. Each week starts with a Thursday Night game so you need to get your new man to Chief by 11pm on Thursday for him to count in that weekend’s action. As always if you cut a Franchise Player placed on IR you still have to pay him til the end of his contract. Any player you put on IR after trading day 2 is still eligible to be your franchise player next season and to this end Alex didn’t cut his QB Deshaun Watson until after week 11 was over and has now placed him on IR signing Redskin Kirk Cousins who will be his QB from week 12. Scoring Hall of Fame Again Despite cutting Keenan Allen (above) Chief’s players finally lived up to his hopes and overcame his new QB Alex Smith not scoring and new WR Robbie Anderson being on a bye to total 51 points, which also lifted him out of the relegation zone, at least for the moment, however just 13 points cover Andy H in 5th and Ron in the dropzone in 9th. It’s Chief’s league leading 18th visit to the Marbled Halls, four more than second placed Mark. BUMS on Seats It’s Thanksgiving Day this Thursday (23rd) and Cheryl will be providing her traditional feast as we watch the first two games of the Thanksgiving Triple Header. It’s Minnesota (8-2) @ Detroit (6-4) from 6pm followed by LA Chargers (4-6) @ Dallas (5-5). We won’t be gathering to see the third game as Washington (4-6) host the NY Giants (2-8). We’ll be back at HQ on Sunday from 6pm to watch Chicago (3-7) @ Philadelphia (9-1) followed by the Saints (8-2) at the Rams (7-3) and with Johnnie still in Australia will be meeting to see the Sunday Night game where Green Bay (5-5) travel to Pittsburgh (8-2), time to be confirmed. However will not be gathering on Tuesday as the Monday Night game is rather uninspiring, Baltimore (5-5) host Houston (4-6).
