2016 Season - Week 9

Trading Day 2

So we are now just days away from Trading Day 2 which is this Sunday at HQ starting at 4pm. If you want to trade but can’t get to HQ you can do so by email, online via the BUMS google sheet or by phone, just let me know how you are planning to cut your deadwood. If I don’t hear from you I’ll assume you are happy with your team. Attached are the initial player salaries plus the sheet of new players who are also now available. As always we cut in worst to first order (all cuts by an owner in one go) then draft one player at a time in worst to first owner order until all rosters are full. The full order is David S, Alex, Dave G, George, Cheryl, Wayne, Ron, Johnnie, Andy H, AP, Daz, Marcus, Craig, Mark, Aaron and Chief. With more and more people trading online around the globe we need to stick to the timetable, so each owner will cut their players at one minute intervals from 4pm UK time as per TD1. The time slots are on the google sheet. If you are concerned about making the deadline you can forward your cuts to Chief who will make them at the allotted time if you don’t make the internet by then. Should you miss your deadline you will then cut your players at whatever point you join, but you will also drop to that position in the order for selecting your replacements. If you miss the trade completely you can still cut directly with Chief before 5:50pm on Sunday and select all your replacements after all other owners who have cut players have re-filled their rosters and prior to 6pm for the trades to count for week 10. If you have advised Chief you are trading but miss the whole trading 2 hour session (4pm til 6pm) you will have four days grace and can makes changes in time for week 11 by sending your cuts and replacements to Chief by 5pm on Thursday, November 17th. Remember if you cut a franchise player you have to pay him his salary until the end of the contract. Once again George is in a tough slot as his $3m second year franchise man Jamaal Charles has been placed on IR for a second year running, though the Chiefs are hopeful he will be back for the end of the season. Cheryl has seen her second year franchise man Arian Foster retire, but if she cuts him she will still pay his $1m salary and so will have a budget of just $9m for the rest of the season. Note, if you cut or sign players from this Thursday night’s game, Cleveland @ Baltimore then your trade will not be actioned until week 10. From next week onwards if a player is put on IR you will be able to immediately replace him so keep an eye out for your player’s status on nfl.com/transactions. Mark back in Hall of Fame When Christine Michael scored in MNF Mark moved to 50 points and so enters the Hall of Fame for the 13th time (second all-time, breaking a tie with Wayne). Chief leads with 17 visits. BUMS on Seats As mentioned Thursday’s game is Browns (0-9) at Ravens (4-4) but we are not meeting to see it. After Trading Day from 6pm we will see Atlanta (6-3) @ Philadelphia (4-4) followed by the Steelers (4-4) visit to Dallas (7-1). With Johnnie still away we will be at HQ from 8pm on Monday to watch a Superbowl 49 replay as New England (7-1) host Seattle (5-2-1). But we are not getting together on Tuesday to watch a bad Monday Night Football matchup as NY Giants (5-3) entertain Cincinnati (3-4-1). As always all are welcome, let the host know for catering purposes. Please let me know how you are trading as soon as possible and if it’s online make sure you have tested the google sheet by entering a message next to your name & be ready to trade on time!!
