2015 Season - Week 8

Hall of Fame for H

Congratulations to Andy H who made the Scoring Hall of Fame this week for a tenth time. His 50 points were 17 short of his best week ever and the third highest total in the BUMS ever (behind AP’s exceptional fortnight of 68 and 70 points in 2003). Those 50 points have lifted H off the bottom of the table and with almost half the season gone it’s very close around the final drop spot with just one field goal separating 6th from 9th. Mea Culpa Huge apologies from Chief to Craig who had to point out that last week his kicker Matt Prater had only been awarded 4 points in the BUMS spreadsheet, despite scoring 2 field goals and 2 PATs. Once the error came to light Prater score was corrected. Prior to each trading day I spend about 3 hours double crossing all the BUMS scores with ESPN’s NFL scoring table to ensure the points are accurate but it is a timely reminder that you should all check your teams weekly score and please do let me know if you spot anything wrong. BUMS Team of October The five weeks of October saw 16 teams have bye weeks but for just $6.5m the best BUMS team scored an incredibly impressive 239 points, powered by the 6-2 “Mighty Oakland Raiders”. The Head Coach of October is Jack Del Rio (Oakland & Langley) four wins in five, equals 24 points for just $0.5 million. Matt Bryant (Atlanta & Phoenix) again $0.5m - 50 points kicked. Oakland & Westmorland QB Derek Carr put up 37 points for his $1m salary. The running backs are LeGarrette Blount (Patriots & Willoughby) and DeMarco Murray (Tennessee & California) who along with David Johnson (Arizona & Leamington) scored 30 points each, but Blount costs $1m, Murray $2m while Johnson is $3m. The three starting receivers are Michael Crabtree (Oakland & Leamington) 30 points for a franchised $0.5m, Mike Evans (Tampa Bay & Westmorland) 20 points for another franchised $0.5m and Martellus Bennett (Patriots & Phoenix) who for $0.5m scored 18 points. 6 other receivers scored 3 TDs but all cost at least one million dollars. BUMS on Seats Thursday Night Football is Atlanta @ Tampa and we’ll meet at HQ on Friday from 8pm to watch it.
