2016 Season - Week 6

Trading Day 1

14 owners (four in person, five online & five by email) traded 29 players on Sunday (five trades less than Trading Day 1 last year). Thanks to Marcus for helping with the Google Sheets. If you realise you wanted to drop another player you will have to wait until Sunday November 13th for Trading Day 2 which happens before week 10. Seven trades won’t take effect until this weekend as they involved players signed (five) or cut (two) from either Denver or San Diego who had already played on Thursday night and so we already knew their week 6 score. Trading Day - What’s the point of that then? It’s always silly to judge owners trading success the day after the trade but it’s fun to take a little peek into who made the right move. It’s also more limited this year with those 7 trades which have yet to take place and because Johnnie and Chief both took players who were on a bye in week 6 (idiots). That said Mark saw an 18 point improvement Christine Michael scored two TDs and Dallas six points for Jason Garrett, (they replaced injured Adrian Peterson and Todd Bowles). Congratulations also to Andy H who improved 14 points as Caleb Sturgis and Rex Ryan outscored those they replaced, Robbie Gould and Marvin Lewis. Most Popular/Unpopular teams Carolina and NY Jets lost three players each from BUMS rosters on Sunday, while Green Bay, Indi, New Orleans, NY Giants, San Diego and Seattle lost two apiece. Although two Chargers were cut they were the most popular team when we started signing players with four being signed. Dallas had three signed while Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minnesota, New Orleans and Seattle all had two more players signed. With two Bears being signed all 32 NFL teams are now represented on BUMS rosters, though Chicago tie with seven other teams with the least number of players on a BUMS roster. Detroit and New England are now the most popular NFL teams as each have seven players on BUMS rosters, with Atlanta, Green Bay, Oakland and Seattle represented by six players. Cuts by draft round No matter which round you are selected in, you can still be cut. One franchise players was cut, David S cutting Michael Hoomanawanui who the Saints have put on IR while Aaron and Johnnie cut their first rounders (Ryan Fitzpatrick and Thomas Rawls respectively). We also lost three seconds and five third round picks. We lost the only third round supplemental pick as Alex cut Jonathan Stewart but the fourth round saw the most casualties with seven players drafted in that round cut. BUMS on Seats It’s an NFL North match on Thursday Night as Chicago travel to Lambeau Field but we are not meeting to watch it. We are at HQ at 4pm on Sunday to watch Giants @ Rams from Twickenham on catch-up before Buffalo @ Miami and Patriots @ Steelers. Due to having a life we will not be meeting to see either Sunday Nights Seahawks @ Cardinals NFC West matchup nor the Osweiler Bowl as Houston visit Denver on Monday Night football.
