2016 Season - Week 16

A Week To Go In The AFC

In the AFC New England (13-2) have clinched a bye week and will win home field advantage with a win in Miami (10-5) who have secured a wildcard place. Pittsburgh (10-5) have won the AFC North and Houston the South at 9-6. They will host the wildcard games so the only AFC Best has to be finalised. If Oakland (12-3) can overcome the loss of their MVP candidate QB Derek Carr who broke his leg on Saturday and win in Denver (8-7) they will clinch the West and a bye week. However if they lose and Kansas City (11-4) win in San Diego (5-10) KC will win the division and Oakland will drop to the Chiefs current #5 spot and will travel to Houston. All NFL games are on Sunday. BUMS Team of December Weeks 13 to 16 provided us with four weeks of scores for the BUMS team of December. The best team on BUMS rosters would have scored 242 points but would have cost you $16.5m so we have had to cut the $2m head coaches Mike McCarthy & Bill Belichick who won 4 games each, QB Aaron Rodgers (who scored 33 points) and WR Dez Bryant (21 points) who cost $3m each. The affordable team scored 215 points and cost $10 million. To put this in perspective Marcus scored a month’s best 174 points in the Premiership while in the Conference Daz scored 113. Head Coach of the month is either Dan Quinn (Tring & Atlanta), Adam Gase (Karori & Miami) or Jack Del Rio (Langley & Oakland) who all scored 18 points for just $0.5m. Andy Reid, Bill O’Brien and Jason Garrett also had three wins but they cost $1m each. Phoenix & Atlanta Kicker Matt Bryant scored 42 points for $0.5m while December’s QB Dak Prescott (Tring & Dallas) scored 21pts at a cost of just $0.5m. David Johnson proved he was worth $3m of Leamington & Arizona’s money by scoring 44 points and is joined in the backfield by LeGarrette Blount (Willoughby & New England) who scored 30 points for his $1m. Devonta Freeman and Le’Veon Bell also scored 30 points but at a cost of $2m each. At receiver we have Jordy Nelson (Willoughby & Green Bay) who cost $2m but scored five TDs and Tyler Eifert (Underachieving & Cincinnati) – 18 points, $2m plus one of the following $0.5m receivers:- Davante Adams (Underachieving & Green Bay), Martellus Bennett (Phoenix & New England), Michael Crabtree (Leamington & Oakland) or Jimmy Graham (Phoenix & Seattle) who all scored 12 points each. Wildcard Weekend Don’t forget the road to BUMSBowl XXI starts on Saturday 7th January so in next week’s newsletter I’ll be sending out the prices for the post season players along with the rules for Alex and as a reminder for the rest of the ownership, so you can all enter your team for the first round. With all games being played this Sunday the newsletter should be with you by early Tuesday. We will be meeting to see the four Wildcard games.
