2016 Season - Week 16

Two More on IR

During the week Miami placed TE Julius Thomas on IR and Craig replaced him with Tyrell Williams, WR for the Chargers, but it was with the other LA team that the biggest loss was found. Greg Zuerlein was having the greatest kicking season in BUMS history. He had scored 158 points through 15 weeks and was just 5 short of the BUMS record set by another Rams kicker, Jeff Wilkins back in 2003 but with two weeks remaining Zuerlein was put on IR with a herniated disc. Marcus has replaced him with Baltimore booter Justin Tucker. A Week To Go In The BUMS Looking at the standings after week 16, it seems as though not much has changed in either division and while the promotion owners have been set for a couple of weeks now, things in the Premiership were very interesting after the seven early games on Saturday. Half way through week 16 Chief had 498 points, Craig and Marcus were one point behind and Aaron was on 495 as the top four were separated by just three points. Meantime at the bottom Johnnie and Wayne were tied on 376 points each with one of them filling the final drop spot. But that was at half-time in the week and the eight later games proved better for some than others. So adding week 16’s scoring to the current totals it’s unsurprising that Marcus is now predicted to win the Papas Fritas Trophy with 599 points, 22 ahead of Craig with Chief third on 558 and Aaron fourth with 542. At the bottom Ron will finish with 432 points, 2 ahead of Johnnie but both will stay up as the extrapolation shows Wayne will score 402, Cheryl on 366 and David G on 351. Although Daz leads the Conference by 5 points with a week to go AP outscored him by 13 points this week and as a result AP is predicted to finish on 464 points to win the Conference. Daz will score 456 and George will also return to the Premiership with 404 points while Dave Stamp will finish 67 points behind George. A Week To Go In The NFC Out of chaos comes order. Two weeks ago only Dallas had clinched a playoff berth but now all six AFC teams and four NFC teams have clinched their post season places. Dallas (13-2) have won the NFC East and will have home field advantage. Atlanta (10-5) won the South and will clinch a bye if they beat New Orleans (7-8). Seattle (9-5-1) won the West but the loss to Arizona (6-8-1) this weekend dropped them behind Atlanta. Also despite a loss in week 16 the Giants (10-5) clinched a wildcard spot. The winner of the final game of the season will win the NFC North as Green Bay (9-6) will travel to Detroit (9-6) for the Sunday night game. The loser may still win the second wildcard spot unless the Redskins (8-6-1) beat the Giants. If Washington lose Tampa Bay (8-6) could steal the final playoff spot but it’s incredibly unlikely. They must win in Carolina (6-9) and have six other results go their way including the Lions defeating the Packers & the Giants and Redskins tying their game.
