2016 Season - Week 15

Isn’t It Ironic

They say Americans don’t do irony but was this ironic? Aaron, Marcus and Chief were cheering on Arizona against New Orleans in person, a game that included three players on the roster of their main rival to the Papas Fritas Trophy. And so they saw with their own eyes as Craig’s three players (David Johnson, Drew Brees & Wil Lutz) each scored 12 points giving their biggest rival 36 points in the game they paid to see! A Fortnight Left For the third consecutive week Craig is predicted to win his first Papas Fritas Trophy. Unsurprisingly after scoring 48 points this week the Porcupines are now expected to beat Willoughby Wolves 568 to 537 points. Aaron will finish three points ahead of Chief with Marcus 11 behind him. There will also be no change at the top of the Conference where Daz is predicted to finish on 480 points with AP on 444 and George on 429. However at the bottom of the Premership the predicted finish is making things very interesting in the relegation zone. It looks like Dave G and Cheryl are down, as they are predicted to score 322 and 368 points respectively. But over the last two weeks Wayne has scored 49 points while Johnnie has posted 35 points. Johnnie is currently 14 points ahead of Wayne (370-356) so our extrapolation says both will finish on 405 points, but one of them will have to be relegated. Two Weeks To Go In week 14 three teams joined Dallas (12-2) in confirming their playoff places, Seattle (9-4-1) won the NFC West while New England (12-2) clinched their 13th AFC East in the last 14 years. In the last 14 years Oakland (11-3) hadn’t made the post season but their victory in San Diego clinched a playoff spot for the Raiders. San Diego (5-9), Cincinnati (5-8-1), Arizona (5-8-1) and Philadelphia (5-9) were all eliminated, leaving 18 teams chasing the final eight spots. The Giants (10-4) & the Steelers (9-5) can both qualify this weekend with wins. Pittsburgh plays Baltimore (8-6) on Christmas Day and the Steelers will win the AFC North with a victory. All these teams (listed in current playoff seeding order) need help to get in:- Houston (8-6), Kansas City (10-4), Miami (9-5), Baltimore, Tennessee (8-6), Denver (8-6), Indianapolis (7-7) and Buffalo (7-7) in the AFC. Meantime in the NFC it’s:- Atlanta (9-5), Detroit (9-5), Green Bay (8-6), Tampa Bay (8-6), Washington (7-6-1), Minnesota (7-7), New Orleans (6-8) and Carolina (6-8). There are only two games on Sunday as its Christmas Day so note there are 12 NFL games on Saturday. MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL.
