2016 Season - Week 14

Scoring Hall of Fame

For a second time this season and his seventh time overall Aaron enters the Marbled Halls with a week 14 total of 55 points. His big week has seen him leap from fifth in the table last week to second this week just 11 points behind Craig. Both of them are chasing their first Papas Fritas Trophy. Three Weeks To Go Incredibly still only one team (Seattle) have booked their place in the post season with just three weeks of the regular season left to play. Two more teams were officially eliminated, Chicago and the LA Rams, which led to the Rams officially eliminating their coach as Jeff Fisher became the first head coach to be sacked this season. Meantime the weekly look back/forward predictions shake up the top three again. The original look two weeks ago had Chief defeating Mark by two points. Last week the extrapolation over the final four weeks had Craig winning, Chief second and Marcus and Mark tied for third. What a difference a week makes, adding the last three weeks scoring onto week 14’s score and Craig (558 points) will still win the Papas Fritas but by just 6 points from Marcus. After his big week Aaron (who last week was predicted to finish fifth) will finish third on 544 (14 behind the champ). Chief will be fourth on 514. The relegation and promotion owners remain unchanged but this week predicts Wayne will finish 9th with 411 points, 8 behind Andy H, with Cheryl slipping to 10th (399 pts) and Dave G bottom on 353. Daz is now expected to win the Conference with 503 points finishing 38 ahead of AP with George clinching the final promotion spot on 414 points, a comfortable 77 ahead of David S. More Injuries Two signal callers suffered injuries over the weekend though they both hope to play again this season. Matt Stafford (Brockley & Detroit) badly dislocated the middle finger on his throwing hand but finished the game wearing a glove and he hopes to play next week. Ryan Tannehill (Karori & Miami) suffered both an ACL and MCL sprain which fortunately will not require surgery. How many weeks he’ll miss is yet to be known. Remember you can still sign any player you cut for injury reasons as your Franchise Man for next year and it’s your responsibility to look out for the health of your players and email Chief by Thursday at 11pm if one is put on IR. Mark’s Merry Christmas To One & All In a very festive mood Mark has provided us with this year’s BUMS Silly name team:- The Christmas Present Packers. Head Coach of the team has to be Pete “Christmas” Carroll. Some help with QB Jay Cutler’s link to Christmas (he was born in Santa Clause, Indiana). Other highlights of this team include WR Eric Decker “The Halls”, TE Kyle Rudolph, DL Jeremy Mincey “Pies”, and Kicker “St” Nick Folk. The full team is attached, nice one Mark. Merry Christmas to everyone. BUMS on Seats Although the NFL has three regular season weeks left, we won’t be meeting again until Saturday January 7th 2017 to watch the first Wildcard game. As mentioned last week Chief, Cheryl, Marcus and Aaron are selfishly heading to Arizona and San Diego for the last three weekends of the season but we will be back in time for the wildcard round. There should be no issue with publishing the weekly newsletters but remember they may come out at odd times for the UK owners, so beware of possible spoilers when you open them.
