Draftermath 2016 (Cont)
The Unwanted
Kirk Cousins (Washington) leads the 2016 Unwanted. There is a team of unselected players who would have scored 560 points but they would have cost you $14m. For $10m the team you didn’t pick would have scored 538 points, good enough to win both the Premiership and Conference last year. As well as an unwanted Kirk Cousins, you also dissed Danny Woodhead (San Diego)and Kansas City’s Spenser Ware at Running Backs, receivers Jordan Matthews (Phili), John Brown (Arizona) and Tennessee Tight End Delanie Walker. Kicking is Cardinal Chandler Catanzaro with Minnesota’s Head Coach Mike Zimmer. The rejected team (and the budget free rejects) are attached.
Trading DaysMore than most Andy H will be looking forward to Trading Day 1, which will be at HQ from 3pm on Sunday 16th October before week 6’s games. Within hours of the BUMS draft his beloved Chicago Bears cut his kicker Robbie Gould, replacing him with Connor Barth. If you decide the team you drafted isn’t quite good enough you can make your changes on October 16. Remember that if you cut your franchise players you will have to pay him his signed salary for the rest of this season. If that doesn’t help you Trading Day 2 will be on Sunday 13th November before week 10. Hope you can make it to BUMS HQ for each of these days to trade and watch the Sunday games that follow. Please put these in your diaries now.
Last Man Standing Game
It’s also year 2 of the new game Paul Priv has introduced last season. As you know it’s easy to play and doesn’t take too much research so I hope you’ll all have a go. Each week you select an NFL team that is going to win, if they win you select another team in week two, if you lose you are out. The only catch is you cannot select the same team twice, so if you fancy having a go and proving you know more than any other BUM about real football, rather than fantasy, let me know who your week 1 winner is before 11pm (BST) on Thursday, September 8th, if you want the Broncos or Panthers. If it’s another team you have until 5pm on Sunday (Sept 11th) Check out the week 1 schedule at http://www.nfl.com/schedules/2016/REG1
BUMS on Seats
As I said, the season starts this Thursday September 8th when we have a Superbowl replay as champs Denver host Carolina and will be live on Sky in the early hours of Friday. We will be at Johnnies early on Friday at 7pm to watch it. Let him know if you want to come over and enjoy the opener. Sunday at 6pm will be at HQ to see Green Bay @ Jacksonville followed by NY Giants @ Dallas. We will be at Johnnies on Monday 12th from 7pm to see the Sunday Night game as the Cardinals host the Patriots. Finally there are two games on Monday Night, just for the opening weekend. We will be back at HQ from 5.30pm to see Washington host Pittsburgh followed by Los Angeles (still seems odd to say) @ San Fran. With games only on Sky all viewing will be at either Johnnie’s or HQ. Enjoy the season.
