2015 Season - Week 5

Trading Day 1 This Sunday

We are now just days away from Trading Day 1, on October 18th – 4pm @ HQ. Let me know if you will be trading by person, by phone, via email or on the internet via google docs. If it’s by phone I’ll need the number you’ll be on come 4pm Sunday. If I don’t hear from you I’ll assume you are happy with your team and don’t want to change anyone. Remember if you cut a Franchise player you have to pay him for the rest of his contract so defending champion Johnnie would only have a $9.5m budget for the rest of this season and next if he cuts injured WR Kelvin Benjamin, for example. Note, if you cut or sign players from this Thursday night’s game (Atlanta @ New Orleans) then your trade will not be actioned until week 7. As always we cut in worst to first order (all cuts by an owner in one go) then draft one player at a time in worst to first owner order until all rosters are full. The full order is John, AP, Mark, Aaron, Craig, Ron, Cheryl/Johnnie (dice roll), Daz, Marcus, Dave G, David S, Chief, George, Andy H, and finally Wayne. Attached is a list of the new players who are available for signing, having scored during the first five weeks of the season, together with the player price list from the start of the season. Happy planning. Remember to let me know by Saturday how you intend to trade by email, phone, google docs or attending HQ. If I don’t hear from you I will assume you are totally happy with your team. Worst Fortnight Ever Trading Day is even more important than it was last week. In week 4 we scored 270 points (the third worst average points per owner). This week we managed 275 points an average of 17.19 points per owner, the seventh worst week ever. Combined however it’s a shameful performance as we have averaged 17.03 points per owner for the worst fortnight ever. In weeks 6 and 7 of 1999 we averaged the previous worse of 17.43 points per owner. Our fortnightly average is less than 3 TDs per owner. Trading Day can’t get here quick enough! We are currently on pace for the second lowest scoring season in our storied 21 years. BUMS on Seats The Thursday game on Sky is Atlanta @ New Orleans which we will watch on Friday evening. After Trading Day 1 at HQ on Sunday we will see Cincinnati @ Buffalo followed by Carolina travelling to Seattle. We will be at Johnnie’s on Monday from 7pm to see New England @ Indianapolis on Sunday Night Football and back there on Tuesday at 7pm to see Monday Night Football as the Eagles host the Giants. As always all are welcome shout if you want in, for catering purposes. Now, how are you trading.
