2015 Season - Week 3

BUMS Team of September

After only three weeks that’s the first month in the book. You’d need very deep pockets to create September’s team. The best BUMS scored 204 points in just three weeks (an average of 68 points per week) but it would cost you $15 million to buy them. Aaron Rodgers $3m (Langley & Green Bay) leads the September team with 31 points. Kicking is Stephen Gostkowski (Misunderstood & New England) with 35 points for $2m. Two unbeaten head coaches run the team:- Bruce Arians (Misunderstood & Arizona) and Marvin Lewis (Brockley & Cincinnati) are both 3-0 and cost their owners $1m. Also on three wins but costing $2m is Mike McCarthy (Karori & Green Bay). We have Jamaal Charles (Brockley & Kansas City – 30pts, $3m) and Joseph Randle (Rhodesia & Dallas – 18pts, $1m) running the ball with three starting receivers who have all scored 24 points. Tight End Rob Gronkowski (New England) cost California $1m while Julio Jones (Atlanta) and Randall Cobb (Green Bay) cost Langley and Perivale $2m each. To get a team within the BUMS budget you need to replace Rodgers with Andy Dalton (Perivale & Cincinnati – 30pts, £1m), Gostkowski with Josh Brown (Gang Green & NY Giants – 30pts, $0.5m) and drop one of the $2m receivers for Antonio Brown (Leamington & Pittsburgh – 14pts, $0.5m). Meantime the Head Coach would be either Mike Zimmer (Tring & Minnesota) or Todd Bowles (Underachieving & NY Jets) who cost $0.5m and have two wins each. That team would cost $9.5m and totalled 186 points. Hall of Fame Chief becomes the first owner to enter the Marbled Halls this season after putting up 54 points in week three despite three members of his squad failing to score so far this season. Chief has now scored at least 50 points in a week a record 17 times. Mark and Wayne share the second most visits (11 apiece) while AP still holds the record for the most points ever scored in a week, 70 back in week 15 of 2003, one week after he scored 68 points. What a fortnight! Kicking Carousel Andy H and AP have suffered for three weeks without a kicker after Caleb Sturgis was cut by Miami and Nick Novak was released by San Diego after our draft day. This week they were both signed (by Philadelphia and Houston respectively) and both should play on Sunday. BUMS on Seats The Thursday game on Sky is winless Baltimore @ Ben-less Pittsburgh.
