2015 Season - Week 10
Trading Day 2
In one of the quietest Trading Days ever only eight BUMS traded just 17 players in total. Cheryl, Chief and Marcus cut 3 apiece, Aaron, Craig, Daz two each while Mark and Ron dropped one player. Hope you got rid of who you didn’t want and got who you wanted. 1 trade doesn’t take effect until next week as Cheryl picked up LeSean McCoy who had played on the Thursday before TD2. Remember from now on you only have the chance to change a player if he is placed on IR by his NFL team. Keep an eye on your roster as it is your responsibility to advise Chief if one of your players is put on IR. Remember each week starts with a Thursday Night game so you need to get your new man to Chief by 11pm on Thursday for him to count in that weekend’s action. Ron cut his first year Franchise man Le’Veon Bell as he continues his Papas Fritas challenge but still pays Bell $1m this year and next year. Meantime Daz cut his second year franchise man Miami wideout Kenny Stills so is finishing this year with a budget of $9.5m for his eight players but will have a $10m budget again next year. Under those rules George cannot select a replacement for RB Jamaal Charles as he has spent his entire $10m and so has no money to pay a new signee. That said it was George’s decision earlier in the season to keep Charles for next year and hope his team can stay up in the Premiership while their best player misses 13 games. So far so good. With only half the BUMS changing players it seems irrelevant to analyse the success of the trades, so I haven’t.
Cuts by draft round
Every round in the draft saw players cut. As already said Daz and Ron cut franchise players, Daz also cut his TD1 pickup Dion Lewis who was put on IR last week. Craig cut his first rounder rookie RB Melvin Gordon and a fifth rounder while Chief cut his rookie RB second rounder Ameer Abdullah plus a fifth rounder and a TD1 pickup. Aaron cut his second and sixth round draft pick. Marcus cut his third and fourth rounders plus a TD1 pickup. while Cheryl cut a fifth rounder and 2 TD1 pickups. Mark cut one of his TD1 pickups.
Passing Peyton’s Place
In quite possibly his worst game ever (and maybe even his last) Peyton Manning (now out for an unspecified time with Plantar Fasciitis) completed 5 of 20 for 35 yards and 4 interceptions. However there was a moment of history as he set the all-time passing record. He has now thrown for 71,871 yards passing Brett Favre 71,838. Third is Dan Marino 61,361 with Drew Brees 59,005 fourth and Tom Brady 56,301 fifth. Congratulations to Peyton Manning.
