Draftermath 2015 (Cont)

The Unwanted

Peyton Manning (Denver) leads the 2015 Unwanted, with Knile Davis (Kansas City)and Atlanta’s Antone Smith at Running Backs. Grey Beards Antonio Gates (San Diego) and Roddy White (Atlanta) share the receivers position with Patriot Brandon LaFell. Philadelphia’s Cody Parkey costs $2m but his kicking scored 150 points last year and with Denver’s new Head Coach Gary Kubiak scoring 72 points from their 12 wins last year this team would have scored 578 points. That was good enough to win the Premiership (it actually equals Johnnie’s Papas Fritas winning score of 2014). Meantime 578 would have won the Conference by a staggering 142 points! The rejected team is attached. Trading Days With John and Johnnie having lost players for the season already they will be looking forward to Trading Day 1, which will be at HQ from 3pm on Sunday 18th October before week 6’s games. They must remember that if they cut their franchise players John will have to pay Shaun Suisham his signed salary ($0.5m) for the rest of this season, while Johnnie will have to pay his first year franchise wideout, Kelvin Benjamin, $0.5m for each of the next two seasons. If you realise the team you drafted isn’t quite good enough you can make your changes on October 18 and if that doesn’t help Trading Day 2 will be on Sunday 15th November before week 10. Hope you can make it to BUMS HQ for each of these days to trade and watch the Sunday games that follow. Please put these in your diaries now. A New Game Paul Priv has proposed a BUMS “Last Man Standing” game. It’s easy to play and doesn’t take too much research so I hope you’ll all have a go. Each week you select an NFL team that is going to win, if they win you select another team in week two, if you lose you are out. The only catch is you cannot select the same team twice, so if you fancy having a go and proving you know more than any other BUM about real football, rather than fantasy, let me know who your week 1 winner is before 11pm (BST) next Thursday, September 10th. Check out the week 1 schedule at http://www.nfl.com/schedules/2015/REG1 BUMS on Seats As I said, the season starts on Thursday September 10th when the Superbowl champs New England host Pittsburgh and will be live on Sky in the early hours of Friday morning. We will be at Johnnies early on Friday evening to watch it. Let him know if you want to come over and enjoy the opener. Sunday at 6pm will also be at Johnnies to see Green Bay @ Chicago followed by Baltimore @ Denver. We will be at HQ on Monday 15th from 6pm to see the Sunday Night game as the Cowboys host the Giants. Finally there are two games on Monday Night, just for the opening weekend. We will be back at HQ from 5.30pm to see Atlanta host Philadelphia followed at 7:30pm by Minnesota @ San Francisco. This year Sky is the only channel broadcasting games which means we won’t be enjoying H’s cuisine this season and all games will be shown at either Johnnie’s or HQ. Enjoy the season.
