Draftermath 2015
21 and Legal
Welcome to the 21st year of the BUMS. It was great to see the interactive draft board being used by Craig, Daz, Mark, Ron and even Wayne on a flight from Portland to LA! With Aaron, AP, Cheryl, H, Marcus, Johnnie & Chief present at HQ that meant only four owners had to supply a plan in advance. Many thanks to those present for assisting the drafts for others. Hope you got who you wanted. And as always a huge thanks to Cheryl for the fine food she served after the draft.
The Experts Choice
This year the draft (attached) has been analysed by 9 NFL Fantasy Experts including CBS, ESPN, Fox and NFL.com who have predicted how many points each player will score this year. David Stamp has the best backfield in the BUMS with Adrian Peterson (74) & Alfred Morris (51) putting up 125 points, one more than George’s combination of Jamaal Charles (84) and Andre Ellington (40). AP, Daz and Marcus are tied for third with 120 points courtesy of Eddie Lacey (76) & TJ Yeldon ( 44), Marshawn Lynch (77) & Joique Bell (43) and Jeremy Hill (63) & Mark Ingram (57) respectively. Wayne has the best receiving fleet with 154 points from Odell Beckham Jnr (64), Rob Gronkowski (62) and Davante Adams (28). Aaron is second, his 147 points were led by his Bronco receiver duo of Demaryius Thomas (69) and Emmanuel Sanders (46) with another 32 points from Steve Smith. Like RBs, there was a tie for third, by Marcus (Dez Bryant-72, Alshon Jeffery-52 and Markus Wheaton-19) and Ron (Calvin Johnson-63, Martavius Bryant-43 and Amari Cooper-37) on 143 points . With the third best backfield and receivers the experts have Marcus winning his second crown saying his squad will put up 563 points. The Cooper men annexed the medal positions, with Aaron coming second and Chief third. In the Conference they say Wayne’s air attack will win with 517 points. Along with Dave G and Stampy’s ground game they will replace Andy H, Daz and Johnnie in the Big League, say the experts. John & Johnnie both suffered from scoring zero points from a franchise player each who got injured in the pre-season and will miss the entire year, John lost his second year franchise Kicker Shaun Suisham & Johnnie lost first year wideout Kelvin Benjamin.
This Year Last Year
Looking at how this year’s teams shape up based on the 2014 scores, George will take the Premiership for the first time with 556 points, just one touchdown ahead of Andy H with Johnnie third on 518. Last year’s scores have Mark, and Ron being relegated along with Chief (who has never been relegated – yet). Dave G will win the Conference with 615 points, a massive 168 points ahead of Cheryl with Wayne also going up. The Draftermath table shows what should happen… but will it? Last year the experts had Chief winning the Premiership and he finished 6th, while the previous year’s scores intimated Dave G would win the Papas Fritas and instead he was relegated! So what is the point of the Draftermath, I hear you cry? Well it’s a bit of pre-season fun and speculation isn’t it.
