2014 Season - Week 4

We are now just days away from Trading Day 1, on October 5th – 3.30pm @ HQ. Let me know if you will be trading by person, by phone, via email or on the internet via google docs. If it’s by phone I’ll need the number you’ll be on come 3pm Sunday. If I don’t hear from you I’ll assume you are happy with your team and don’t want to change anyone. Remember if you cut a Franchise player you have to pay him for the rest of his contract so Chief would only have a $9m budget for the rest of the season if he cuts banned RB Adrian Peterson. Note, if you cut or sign players from this Thursday night’s game (Minnesota @ Green Bay) then your trade will not be actioned until week 6. As always we cut in worst to first order (all cuts by an owner in one go) then draft one player at a time in worst to first owner order until all rosters are full. The full order is Aaron, Wayne, Daz, AP, David S, John, Mark, Chief, Cheryl/Dave G (dice roll), Marcus, Craig, Johnnie, Andy H/George (dice roll) and finally Ron. Attached is a list of the new players who are available for signing, having scored during the first four weeks of the season, together with the player price list from the start of the season. Two players have moved teams since the Player Salaries sheet was first published. Ex-Eagle kicker Alex Henery ($0.5m) now kicks for Detroit ($0.5m) while former KC kicker Ryan Succop ($0.5m) is now a Titan. Happy planning. Remember to let me know by Saturday how you intend to trade by email, phone, google docs or attending HQ. If I don’t hear from you I will assume you are totally happy with your team. 20th Anniversary – Team AP & Team Mark Thanks to those who have replied with their teams, to celebrate the 20th year of the BUMS. We’ve already announced Aaron, Craig & Johnnie’s teams and they are on the attached spreadsheet along with AP and Mark’s. AP’s squad includes the player with the longest name in BUMS history (just to mess up my spreadsheet column widths I reckon but AP asks “Is there a better pair of running backs” and he has a strong point! To be fair AP has selected his team in the spirit of the 20th Anniversary teams adding “Tricky choice for HC, K & QB so went with the ones I have enjoyed the most” and for those of you who have not selected your Anniversary teams yet, that’s exactly how it should be done. For interest skill players he left out include Donovan McNabb, Kurt Warner, Phillip Rivers, Clinton Portis, Frank Gore, Shaun Alexander, Terrell Davis, Thurman Thomas, Brandon Marshall, Hines Ward and Joe Horn. Mark made a nice gesture with the selection of his kicker stating “Bironas is a heart and not head pick” He is also proud of his receivers “I have a decent lot of WRs to go for, but I fancy my chances with the 3 out wide that I have Some receivers who he left out include Anquan Boldin, Antonio Gates, Chad Johnson, Donald Driver, Herman Moore, Larry Fitzgerald, Randy Moss, Reggie Wayne and Tim Brown, he also left out Bret Favre, Steve Young, Troy Aikman, Adrian Peterson, Eddie George, Edgerrin James, LaDainian Tomlinson and Warrick Dunn.
