2014 Season - Week 2
Topsy Turvey First Fortnight
A strange two weeks in the Premiership has seen many owners who did well in week one, struggle in week two and vice versa. Craig scored 45 points in week one and then just 7 in week two, while Marcus scored just 21 in week one and then 42 in week two. Marcus has jumped from the relegation zone to equal top of the table. Wayne fell from top to seventh, Mark dropped from second to the relegation zone and Aaron from fourth to the bottom of the table while Chief climbed from the bottom to fifth. The entire division is covered by just 20 points, so expect plenty more movement next week.
20th Anniversary - Team Johnnie
As mentioned last week it’s the BUMS 20th season. To celebrate this momentous sporting milestone, each week an owner will get to select their 20th Anniversary All-star team based on players who that owner has had. The team will be based on our current formation of QB, 2xRB, 3xRec, K and HC with none of the budget restrictions. So here is Johnnie’s 20th Anniversary team QB – Aaron Rodgers, RBs – Emmitt Smith and Adrian Peterson, Receivers – Curtis Conway, Demaryuis Thomas and Randy Moss, Kicker Jason “Mmm Bop” Hanson and Coach Mike Tomlin. Other star skill position players he could have chosen included Brett Favre, Donovan McNabb, Jim Kelly, Eddie George, Edgerrin James, Fred Taylor, Rikki Waters, Warwick Dunn, Isaac Bruce, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Tony Gonzalez, Tory Holt & Terrell Owens.
NFL Casualty Ward 1
The pain has come thick and fast in two weeks, no more so than Wayne’s woes. California have lost both their franchise players, QB Griffin has a dislocated ankle and though no return is confirmed Washington say he will be back this season. Wayne’s RB Ryan Mathews will be out 4 to 5 weeks with a sprained MCL. Meanwhile George has lost Jamaal Charles (the second pick in the draft) with a high ankle sprain. These can drag on and linger but the reports from the Chiefs are that there is no ligament damage. Stampy’s Ram Receiver Tavon Austin also sprained his MCL and will miss roughly two weeks. Craig’s QB, Cardinal Carson Palmer missed week 2 with a shoulder injury. H’s Franchise RB Doug Martin left Tampa’s first game early and missed week 2. Two Tight Ends called Jordan missed week 2, Jordan Reed (Daz/Washington) and Jordan Cameron (AP/Cleveland). With Trading Day 1 on 5th October we have two more weeks of action before we can replace the walking wounded.
