2014 Season - Week 16

A Week To Go

Adding week 16’s scoring to the current totals show’s we have a nail biter in the Conference as Andy H and AP will both finish first on 432 points. George will join them in the Premiership next year with 419 points with John (406) and David S (402) just coming up short. Johnnie has the Papas Fritas sown up and will finish on 562 points, 30 ahead of Aaron with Chief climbing to third on 517 points. The bottom three won’t escape with Cheryl predicted to finish ninth on 410, Dave on 409 and Wayne scoring 338 points. A Week To Go New England (12-3) have clinched home field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. Denver (11-4) and Indianapolis (10-5) won their divisions last week and Cincinnati (10-4-1) and Pittsburgh (10-5) clinched their post-season berths this week. That leaves one place open, San Diego (9-6) currently hold that with Baltimore (9-6), Houston (8-7) and Kansas City (8-7) still in the hunt. In the NFC the last week is all about bye weeks and home field advantage as five teams are tied at 11-4 with the last place going to the winner of the NFC South, who will have a losing record (see below). Seattle currently have the one seed, Detroit the two, Dallas 3, Green Bay 5 and Arizona 6. Detroit play in Green Bay at the same time as the South decider. Hall of Fame Again Chief has entered the Scoring Hall of Fame for a record 16th time this week, five more than Mark and Wayne. It was Chief’s highest ever week with and the twelfth ever highest weekly total in our 20 year history. AP still holds the top two spots scoring 70 & 68 points in weeks 15 & 14 of 2003. Injuries It may be Christmas but BUMS and NFL front offices continue to work. Three BUMS players remain on IR and two of them can be replaced for the final week. Dave G has Knowshon Moreno out and Wayne has lost Montee Ball, while Andy H has lost his Franchise man Brandon Marshall but has no money left to replace him. You can still sign any player you cut for injury reasons as your Franchise Man for next year. Remember to look out for the health of your players and email Chief if one is put on IR. New players to me by 3pm Sunday please as the final week of the regular season starts with ten games at 6pm on Sunday. BUMS on Seats We’ll be at HQ on Sunday from 6pm to see the two live Sky games – San Diego (9-6) @ Kansas City (8-7), (a Charger win and they make the playoffs), followed by the afore mentioned NFC South decider as Atlanta (6-9) entertain Carolina (6-8-1). We will then be at Johnnie’s on Tuesday evening to see the final game of the regular season, Sunday Night’s AFC North deciding Pittsburgh (10-5) @ Cincinnati (10-4-1). That means no spoilers on Monday or Tuesday please. The final regular season newsletter (including player prices for the Wildcard matches on Jan 3rd& 4th) will be sent out on Wednesday (Dec 31st) morning. If you need me to email a different address because you are away next week let me know. Meantime I hope you have a great Xmas and may I wish you all a very Happy New Year.
