2014 Season - Week 15
More Injuries
Before week 15 Cheryl replaced Jags runner Denard Robinson (who she had signed just 3 weeks ago as an injury replacement) with Rams Rookie Rusher Tre Mason. The Broncos have finally put RB Monte Ball on IR after he has missed much of the season so Wayne has until 11pm Thursday to tell me his replacement. Sadly for both it seems it may be too late in the day to save them. Remember to look out for the health of your players and email Chief if one is put on IR.
A Fortnight Left
As mentioned above things are looking bleak for Cheryl and Wayne, in part because the two highest scorers in the Premiership this week were their current rivals for survival. Daz scored 38 points and Dave G 32. Looking at the predicted final table based on current standings plus the last two weeks scores Wayne will finish on 350, Cheryl 405 and Dave’s escape will be foiled as he’ll join them in the drop-zone on 415. Those looking over their shoulders will be Daz (429), Marcus (432) and Chief (438). Meanwhile at the top Johnnie looks in good shape predicted to finish 51 ahead of Craig (581-530) with Ron picking up the Bronze Medal on 517. That said Johnnie’s Franchise RB DeMarco Murray has just had an operation for a broken hand and may miss playing time. In the Conference AP has been bottom since week 8 but he scored the most points (38) of anyone in the Conference this week and this has lifted him to third tied with John. In fact he’s now on course to win the Conference with 445 points, current leader Andy H will finish with 434 and George will joining them back in the Premiership on 433. John (418) and David (412) are predicted to miss out but that’s just the prediction, it’s really close with just 9 points separating second to bottom so we’re set for a very exciting finish.
NFC Playoff Race Still A Mess
Incredibly only 4 teams have clinched a place in the NFL postseason - 3 AFC teams won their divisions this weekend (New England, Denver & Indi) while Arizona have secured a play-off spot. Green Bay had the one seed in the NFC but their loss to Buffalo sees them drop to sixth. With two weeks to go there are six teams (Arizona, Detroit, Dallas, Seattle, Green Bay & Philadelphia) who could all get the number one spot, however one of them will not make the playoffs. The fourth seed will be the winner of the NFC South where either New Orleans, Carolina or even Atlanta at 5-9 can still get in!
BUMS on Seats
On Thursday night Tennessee (2-12) plays Jacksonville (2-12) but we are definitely not watching that one. There are two games Saturday overnight so we’ll be at HQ on Sunday from 1pm to see Philadelphia (9-5) @ Washington (3-11) with at approximately 3.30pm San Diego (8-6) @ San Francisco (7-7) followed by the two live Sky games, Kansas City (8-6) @ Pittsburgh (9-5) and Indianapolis (10-4) @ Dallas (10-4). On Monday evening we’re back at HQ from 5pm to see the critical Sunday Night game as Seattle (10-4) travel to Arizona (11-3). We round out the week at Johnnie’s on Tuesday 23rd December for a key AFC battle as Cincinnati (9-4-1) entertain Denver (11-3). As always all are welcome, just let the hosts know if you are coming for catering purposes.
