2014 Season - Week 13
BUMS Team of November
Weeks 9 to 13 provided us with five weeks of scores for the BUMS team of November. This team scored 277 points with five franchise players in it but still cost $13 million. To put this in perspective the highest Premiership team in November was Willoughby Wolves with 189 points while in the Conference the Brockley Mudbugs scored a month’s best 149. November’s QB is Dave G’s franchise man Drew Brees who scored 45pts but he cost $3m. Dave’s other franchise man is the Head Coach of the month, Marvin Lewis scoring 24 points for just $0.5m. Chip Kelly (Wayne), Mike McCarthy (Andy H) and Bill Bellichick (Johnnie) also all got four wins but they all cost more. Aaron’s rookie Cody Parkey kicked 58 points for just $0.5m while his franchise RB scored six TDs for his $2m price tag. Jamaal Charles also scored 36 points costing George $3m. At receiver Jimmy Graham was the highest scorer on 30 points re-paying Chief some of his $3m salary and is joined in the team by two of the following three who all scored 24 points for just $0.5m:- franchise men Alshon Jeffery (Marcus) and Antonio Brown (Craig) or TD2 pickup Mike Evans (Mark). Demaryuis Thomas (Johnnie) and Jordy Nelson (Mark) also scored four TDs apiece but cost too much. To create a November team under budget play the three $0.5m receivers and transfer in Ron’s franchise QB Andrew Luck (36pts - $1m) and you have a team that costs $8.5m and still scored a very impressive 262 points.
One Month To Go
Four critical weeks are ahead for every BUM. Can Aaron’s incredible phoenix like rise from bottom of the table and a Hall of Shame week all the way to the top continue? He’s all the way to second and needs to outscore long-time leader Johnnie by 13 points per week to do it. This week he outscored him by 14 meaning he’d beat Johnnie by four. Meantime Daz is in the drop zone (on alphabetical order) but only 43 points behind Marcus in 4th (11 points per week) so Marcus, Ron, Chief, Mark and Dave G are all looking over their shoulders. Cheryl is only 8 points from safety. In the Conference while H faces an injury worry with his top scorer Julius Thomas (72 pts) out again, he cannot book his return to the Premiership just yet. Bottom of the table AP has the highest scoring Conference team this week and is now only 29 points (or 7 points per week) short of Dave G in second place. Just three points separate second to fourth, with George currently facing another year in the little league. It’s all getting very interesting.
