2014 Season - Week 10

Trading Day 2

Eleven BUMS were either present, emailed or used the BUMS googledoc to cut 27 players in total. Andy H cut 5 players and Marcus cut 4 as they looked to improve their positions. Hope you got rid of who you didn’t want and got who you wanted. 7 trades don’t take effect until next week as they featured Bengals or Browns who had played on the Thursday before TD2. Remember from now on you only have the chance to change a player if he is placed on IR by his NFL team. Keep an eye on your roster as it is your responsibility to advise Chief if one of your players is put on IR. Remember each week starts with a Thursday Night game so you need to get your new man to Chief by 11pm on Thursday for him to count in that weekend’s action. Talking of which Chief traded for one player on Sunday, Arizona QB Carson Palmer who blew out his knee three quarters later and has now been put on IR. Chief will advise of his new QB by Thursday 11pm for inclusion this weekend. Dave G, you can replace Knowshon Moreno under the same rules. They both have $2m to spend. Trading Day 2 – So what? The always fascinating quick examination of how successful peoples trades are shows Mark being the most successful as all three of his newbies (Martavius Bryant, Mike Evans and Andre Williams) found the end-zone while none of his cuts did, giving him a plus 18 differential. Andy H and Johnnie also all ended the week with a positive trading score. With so many trades deferred until next week or new players on byes this weekend only one person suffered the pain of watching someone they cast adrift score, John Botten ending up minus six care of 49er Carlos Hyde after his new man Lorenzo Taliaferro failed to find the end-zone. Cuts by draft round No matter which round you are selected in you can still be cut but at least if you reach Franchise Player status you get paid your money (who said there were no guaranteed contracts in the NFL?). After Chief and Wayne cut a franchise player each at Trading Day 1, four more franchise investments were released at TD2, AP cut his RB Steven Ridley after New England placed him on IR, H got fed up of Buccaneer rusher Doug Martin’s injuries, Ron felt RB Zac Stacy was under-performing in St Louis and Chief decided to play the last 7 weeks without a Franchise Player cutting Nick Foles after the Eagles QB broke his collarbone. The draft round which took the biggest hit was round five as seven players drafted in it received their marching orders along with two second rounders, four thirds & five players picked up at Trading Day 1. BUMS on Seats Miami (5-4) host Buffalo (5-4) on Thursday though we are not meeting to watch it. We’ll be at HQ on Sunday from 6pm to watch Seattle (6-3) @ Kansas City (6-3) followed by the Packers (6-3) hosting the Eagles(5-5).
