2013 Season - Week 9

Following the week eight games we were able to score the best BUMS team of October. This team scored 245 points at a cost of $10.5 million. To put this in perspective the highest Premiership team in October was Gang Green with 126 points while even on their staggering rate the Phoenix Fire Warriors only scored 157. September’s QB of the month Peyton Manning continued his record setting pace and also was the highest BUMS QB in October. His $3m salary scored Marcus 45 points in 4 games! As Denver continue their high scoring pace behind Field General Manning kicker Matt Prater (California) benefitted again and is the kicker of the month again (38 points, $2m). The running backs are Knowshon Moreno (Weymouth - 36pts, $0.5m) and Frank Gore (Gang Green - 30, $2m). Jordy Nelson (Weymouth - 24, $0.5m), Vernon Davis (Rhodesia - 24, $1m) and Vincent Jackson (California - 24, $2m) are your receivers. For a second month running Dez Bryant equalled the points total of those in the team of the month but his $3m salary keep him out. You can select from 3 men who all coached their teams to four wins in October at a cost of just $0.5m:- Jim Harbaugh (Gang Green), Marvin Lewis (Misunderstood) and September’s coach of the month Andy Reid (Sofa). Mike McCarthy (Phoenix) also went 4-0 in October but he cost $2m so like Dez Bryant is excluded from the team on cost. Best Wishes We send our best to two head coaches who suffered major health issues over the weekend. Denver head coach John Fox fell ill on the golf course during the Broncos bye week and as a result had heart surgery and will be out for some time. Former Jaguar Head Coach Jack Del Rio will take over the Head Coaching duties until Fox returns. Then live on Monday Night Football Houston Coach Gary Kubiak slumped to the ground as the teams left the field at half-time. He has now been released from hospital after what the doctors have called a mini-stroke. As with the precedent set with Chuck Pagano’s illness last year as Colts head coach, while Craig has John Fox as his head coach he will score 6 points every time Denver win even while Jack Del Rio is the head coach. Once you have selected your head coach, illness will not cost you his teams wins, you only lose the teams wins points if your head coach is cut by their team. BUMS on Seats The Thursday game on Sky is Washington (3-5) @ Minnesota (1-7) but the better game that night is #3 Oregon @ #5 Stanford in College. We will be at HQ on Sunday for the top of the NFC North battle as Detroit (5-3) @ Chicago (5-3) followed by Denver (8-1) travelling to San Diego (4-4). We will be at H’s on Monday from 5:30pm to see New Orleans (6-2) host Dallas (5-4) on Sunday Night Football (broadcast on Channel 4) and then back at HQ on Tuesday at 5:30pm to the see the Monday Night Battle of Florida (now on Eurosport) as Miami (4-4) travel to winless Tampa Bay.
