2013 Season - Week 6

Trading Day 1

We are now just days away from Trading Day 1 (this Sunday October 20th - 3pm @ HQ). Let me know if you will be trading by person, by phone, via email or on the internet via the google document we used for the draft. If it’s by phone I’ll need the number you’ll be on come 3pm Sunday. If I don’t hear from you I’ll assume you are happy with your team and don’t want to change anyone. This weekend three players from last weeks list of non-scorers finally found pay-dirt:- Greg Little (Cleveland & Aetearoa), Vincent Jackson (Tampa Bay & Brockley) and Stevan Ridley (New England & Tring). However that still leaves 15 players who have yet to score plus Aaron’s Head Coach, Tom Coughlin is still waiting to see The Giants first win of the season. Meantime AP’s Franchise WR Julio Jones has been put on IR by The Falcons so AP may well cut him. Remember if you cut a Franchise player you have to pay him for the rest of his contract so AP would only have an $8m budget for the rest of the season as he tries to fight his way out of the drop zone. Note, if you cut or sign players from this Thursday night’s game (Seattle @ Arizona) then your trade will not be actioned until week 8. As always we cut in worst to first order (all cuts by an owner in one go) then draft one player at a time in worst to first owner order until all rosters are full. The full order is David S, AP, George, Wayne, Dave G, AndyH/Cheryl/John (dice roll), Mark, Ron, Aaron, Johnnie, Chief, Daz, Craig and Marcus. Attached is a list of the new players who are available for signing, having scored during the first six weeks of the season, together with the player price list from the start of the season. Four available players have moved teams since the Player Salaries sheet was first published. Ex-Miami kicker Dan Carpenter ($0.5m) replaced Buffalo’s Rian Lindell ($0.5m) who left for Tampa Bay, while the Buccaneers traded WR Kevin Ogletree ($0.5m) to the Lions. Former Raider QB Matt Flynn ($0.5m) has signed with Buffalo. All four can be signed and the scores they make for their new team will be what you are credited with. Happy planning. Marcus on a record pace Riding the record setting pace of his quarterback Peyton Manning Marcus has scored 250 points in just six weeks. That has him on a pace for 708 points by the end of the season. The highest total to win the Conference is 548 points by Ron in 2006. The highest total ever was the 670 points by Andy H when he won the Premiership back in 2007. After six weeks Ron had scored 151 points while H had scored 249. Can Marcus maintain momentum? BUMS on Seats At mentioned above, the Thursday game on Sky is Seattle @ Arizona. It’s Fish ‘n’ Friday Football from 6pm at HQ to watch it.
