2013 Season - Week 2

BUMS Players Hall of Fame

After having a year off the shortlist of nominees for the 2013 Hall of Fame is attached with 12 players up for consideration. Since 2002 we’ve inducted 44 players. And now it’s time to put 4 more players into the Marbled Halls based on 3 criteria; scoring, impact and enjoyment provided. Attached are the resumes for the dozen nominated men. As always select your favourite 5 players (in order) and get them back to me by Monday September 30th, which is Trading Day 1. The 4 highest scorers will join the selected band of BUMS Hall of Fame players that includes the 2011 inductees Sebastian Janikowski, Larry Fitzgerald, Donald Driver and Anquan Boldin. With two years of fresh players to select from we’ve got a very good group of nominations, make sure your favourite gets into the Hall – vote now by return email! NFL Casualty Ward 1 The pain has come thick and fast in two weeks, no more so than for Cheryl who in week one lost both her Patriots, receiver Danny Amendola and RB Shane Vereen for a couple of months, but in week 2 her second RB Atlanta’s Steven Jackson left the game with a thigh injury and is reportedly out 2-4 weeks. H selected Andre Brown whose broken leg is expected to keep him out 6-7 weeks, while Chief’s Franchise man Rob Gronkowski will reportedly not suit up for a third consecutive week. The most worrying injury was the frightening hit George’s wideout Malcolm Floyd of San Diego took where his neck seemed to compress his spine. He is out indefinitely but the good news is he does have mobility in all extremities. Aaron’s receiver Texan Andre Johnson suffered a concussion, while RB’s Reggie Bush (George), Maurice Jones Drew (Johnnie) and Ray Rice (Daz) left their games on Sunday and will be evaluated through the week. Worryingly for the low scoring Maori Bros, Stampy’s kicker Kai Forbath (Washington) missed the week 2 game with a groin injury, never a good thing for a kicker. Also his QB has a damaged thumb and though the MRI was negative Weedon will be held out of this week’s game. With Trading Day 1 not until October 20th we have four more weeks of action before we can replace the walking wounded. BUMS on Seats The Thursday game on Sky is Kansas City @ Philadelphia though we are not meeting to watch it. Sunday is the usual Sky double header at HQ for Detroit @ Washington followed by Jim Harbaugh being re-united with his old college QB as Andrew Luck and the Colts travel to San Fran. We should be at H’s on Monday at 6pm to see his beloved Bears travel to winless Pittsburgh on Sunday Night Football (broadcast on Channel 4) and then at HQ again on Tuesday from 5.30pm to see Monday Night Football (now on Eurosport) as Denver host Oakland. As always all are welcome just shout if you want in, for catering purposes.
