2013 Season - Week 19
Apologies to Craig
Last week I reported that Craig was one of three owners who had failed to supply a team for the Wildcard matchups. He subsequently forwarded an email he had sent to me in plenty of time which featured his Wildcard team. For some unknown internet based reason the first email never reached BUMS HQ in it’s temporary BCS induced Californian re-treat. Craig’s team was QB Nick Foles, K Adam Vinatieri, RBs LeSean McCoy, Eddie Lacy and Ryan Mathews and receiver AJ Green. His team scored 21 points falling short in his match with AP by two points and also in his tie-breaker with Aaron by 11 points. Craig’s 21 points have been added to his post season totals. Please keep an eye out for the Knockout Previews I send out at the weekend and if your team is missing and you have supplied it, get onto HQ immediately.
And then there were four
There was no repeat of the big upset the 16th seeded Aotearoa Maori Bros pulled last week as the Langley Raptors totalled a post season record 67 points behind the four rushing TDs of LeGarrette Blount. 67 points is the highest total Chief has ever scored in the BUMS and given that this was done with just 6 players rather than the 8 we have in the regular season it is quite some score. To put it in context there have previously only been four Hall of Fame postseason scores out of 502 opportunities – Chief scored 53 back in 1999 and then in the wildcard round in 2011 Daz beat Aaron 51-50 while the following week Mark set the previous high with 57 points. In the only upset of the week 10 seed Wayne beat Cheryl (5 seed) 42-26 again behind the 4 scores from Blount. The California Dreams will aim for their third consecutive upset as they play #2 Langley Raptors in the Championship round. It was business as usual for the 3 seed Aaron who beat AP (#13) 32-17 and congratulations to Ron who makes it to his first Championship game ever as Gang Green (#6) defeated (#8) Underachieving Bastards 35-28. The best Divisional team you could have selected would have scored an incredible 80 points for $7.5m, so why didn’t you play Colin Kaepernick (9pts) at QB, Kicker Stephen Hauschka (11), RBs LeGarrette Blount (24) & Marshawn Lynch (12) and Receivers Keenan Allen & LaVon Brazill (12 each). But you didn’t so the Championship round is Chief (2) versus Wayne (10) while Aaron (3) hosts Ron (6). Teams to me by 10am Saturday please gents.
