2013 Season - Week 12
Week 12 Woes
It was a disappointing week for the BUMS with a combined score of 338 points, the lowest of the season so far (in week 9 we totalled 361). Premiership leader Aaron scored only 12 points as things get tighter at the top, Chief scored 21, Johnnie 32, Ron 23 and Daz 28. Looks like any of the five could take the title. At the bottom George seems doomed and AP is in trouble, while he, Mark, Wayne and H battle it out to avoid the other two drop spots. Marcus scored 34 but after just 50 points in the three previous weeks combined, he has dropped way behind the record pace set by H in 2007. Marcus and Craig will battle it out for the Conference title, currently just a 21 point gap while John leads Dave G by 22 points in the race for the final promotion spot. David S still chases AP’s lowest ever score of 241, he needs another 93, but is currently on pace to only score 210 by season’s end. We still have five weeks to go, so there is plenty of time for changes.
Most Popular/Unpopular teams
As we continue to analyse Trading Day 2, Philadelphia were the most popular team with 3 players added (Marcus signed coach Chip Kelly, Chief signed QB Nick Foles and Mark signed Receiver Riley Cooper). New England and Pittsburgh added two players each. Atlanta were the most unpopular losing three players when AP cut coach Mike Smith, Cheryl released RB Jason Snelling and Mark cut his $2m first year franchise receiver Roddy White. St Louis lost two receivers as AP cut Chris Givens and Cheryl Austin Pettis. All NFL teams continue to be represented on BUMS rosters with Arizona, Jacksonville and Oakland sneaking in with one a piece while the most rostered team is Denver with eight players. New England has seven players while Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, San Diego and Washington have six apiece.
Cuts by draft round
No matter which round you are selected in, you can still be cut. As well as the seven players signed on TD1 who were cut, three more first rounders were released, Dave G cut QB Brandon Weedon, Mark cut RB Trent Richardson and Chief lost RB Arian Foster who had been put on IR. That makes five 2013 first round draft picks that have been cut this year. Mark also cut second rounder Reggie Wayne who the Colts had put on IR, while AP let Houston kicker Randy Bullock go (the only second rounder players to be released this year) and three third rounders were also cut at TD2 making six third round picks in the draft who have received their marching orders.
