Draftermath 2013
A Huge Thanks
After moving the draft date only 5 BUMS were present at HQ with Craig and AP joining us via google docs. Many thanks to those few present for assisting the drafts for others, Aaron, Cheryl, H, Marcus and Ashley. Under instruction Aaron drafted for Johnnie, Ashley for Daz, Chief drafted for David S & John, Cheryl for Ron, H for Dave G and Marcus for Mark. Hope you got who you wanted. Unfortunately George and Wayne missed the draft and had to select their players after everyone else had finished. As always a huge thanks to Cheryl for her fine food.
The Experts Choice
This year the draft (attached) has been analysed by 13 NFL Fantasy Experts including CBS, ESPN, Fox and NFL.com who have predicted how many points each player will score this year. Chief has the best backfield in the BUMS with Adrian Peterson (90) & Arian Foster (81) putting up 171 points. Craig is second on 137 from Alfred Morris (72) and LeShon McCoy (65) while Aaron is third on 125 points from Marshawn Lynch (75) & Matt Forte (50). Chief also has the best receiving fleet with 154 points from Dez Bryant (64), Rob Gronkowski (55) and DeSean Jackson (35) outscoring H’s 148 points from Brandon Marshall (57), Victor Cruz (50) and T.Y. Hilton (41) while Aaron is third (again) with one less than H from AJ Green (63), Torrey Smith (43) and Andre Johnson (41). With the number one backfield & receivers unsurprisingly the experts have Chief winning his third crown saying his squad will put up 567 points with Aaron second and H third. In the Conference they say Craig’s ground game will win with 536 points. Along with Marcus and Dave G they will replace Mark, Ron and George in the Big League say the experts.
This Year Last Year
Looking at how this year’s teams shape up based on the 2012 scores, Daz will repeat with 589 points, 18 more than Andy H with Chief third on 539. Last year’s scores have Johnnie being relegated along with Ron and Wayne. Dave G will win the Conference with 586 points, 118 points ahead of Craig with Marcus also going up. The Draftermath table shows what should happen… but will it?
The Unwanted
Houston coach Gary Kubiak leads the 2012 Unwanted squad which includes QB Josh Freeman and kicker Blair Walsh who kicked 141 points last season. Darren Sproles is joined in the backfield by one of two Panthers DeAngelo Williams or Mike Tolbert (both $0.5m for 42 points) while two of the three receivers may not have been selected due to current injury Heath Miller & Michael Crabtree join Denarius Moore. The best undrafted team for $9m would have scored 532 points last year, good enough for third in the Premiership & to win in the Conference. The rejected team is attached.
