2012 Season - Week 2
It’s a marathon not a sprint
Johnnie’s words came true within a week. After Daz entered the scoring Hall of Fame last week, he was the lowest scorer this week, with only Suisham and Rodgers scoring for him. Daz dropped from first to fourth in the Premiership, ironically two good weeks put Johnnie top of the pile.
High Flying BUMS
Despite Daz’s dodgy week the collective BUMS have had a great start to the season. Last week we totalled 488 points, an average of 30.5 points per owner, our second highest week one average and 17th highest weekly average ever. This week we put up 462 points the 38th highest total. We finished 2011 with 519 points (our 6th highest average). Since week 17 2011, we have scored 1471 points, the best three weeks in our 17 year history.
BUMS Red Cross Hospital
The number one pick in the 2012 BUMS draft RB Fred Jackson injured his knee in the Bill’s week 1 defeat and is out for David Stamp for 3-6 weeks. Meantime Ron has been faced with his $2m superstar franchise RB not suiting up in either of the first two weeks for San Diego but the good news is Ryan Mathews looks likely to return this week. George is also missing a rusher as Rashard Mendenhall has only just started light training. Dave G’s RB Ahmad Bradshaw will miss this Thursday’s game with a neck injury while Marcus’ receiver Greg Jennings missed last Thursday’s game with a groin injury. More bad news for Ron as reports have Patriot Tight End Aaron Hernandez missing 4-6 weeks with his injured right ankle. Steven Jackson (Craig) missed most of last weeks St Louis win over Washington with a groin tear and Pierre Garcon (George) missed the same game with a foot injury. So there are quite a few BUMS owners will be looking forward to Trading Day 1 which is before the week 6 games on October 14th (diary note). Remember if you want to cut a franchise man you still have to pay him for the rest of his contract.
