2012 Season - Week 16

Hall of Fame

After Daz last week and Chief the week before, Cheryl enters the Hall of Fame this week, her sixth visit to the Scoring Hall and her second highest weekly total ever (after a 66 point week back in 2004). Her 63 point week has surely moved her to safety while AP and Mark are still looking over their shoulders as Craig and Marcus need big weeks to escape. Talking of big weeks congrats to all, last week was our best week of the season as we totalled 492 points, the 17th highest score in all 18 years of the BUMS. Daz’s Time Again? The overachieving Underachieving Bastards look like they’ll be returning Daz to Papas Fritas glory as he followed up his Hall of Fame week with another strong showing. His 43 point week gives him a lead of 48 points going into the final week while Johnnie and Chief fight it out for second place. In the Conference Stampy is 20 points from the Promotion zone (behind H) while the Conference Trophy could be going to any of the top three. A Fortnight Left Congrats to the six AFC teams who have locked up the play-off spots and are now fighting for seedings this weekend. They currently rank 1) Houston, 2) Denver (both 12-3), 3) New England (11-4), 4) Baltimore (10-5), who have all won their Divisions with Indianapolis at 5 and Cincinnati 6. It’s more complicated in the NFC, Atlanta (13-2) have clinched the 1 seed and Green Bay (11-4) are NFC North champs but only half a game ahead of San Francisco who are half a game ahead of Seattle in the West. All are in the playoffs. Washington (9-6) lead a three-way race in the East with Dallas & New York both 8-7. Minnesota (9-6) are in the second wildcard position presently but as well as the East teams, Chicago (9-6) are also still alive. In the BUMS the final week predictions see no change to the Champion, relegation and promotion positions. Attached is a predicted final table based on current standings plus last weeks score. Injuries It may be Christmas but BUMS and NFL front offices continue to work. Five new players were added to BUMS rosters in time for week 16. AP signed K Steven Hauschka (for Robbie Gould) and WR Antonio Brown (for Dwayne Bowe), Chief replaced WR Malcolm Floyd with Michael Crabtree, Mark signed RB DeMarco Murray (for Daniel Thomas) and Ron RB Knowshon Moreno for Ryan Mathews. Already this week Mark has signed Randy Moss to replace TE Heath Miller who Pittsburgh have put on IR while Wayne needs to replace WR Cecil Shorts (who he signed just 2 weeks ago) as Jacksonville have put him on IR. You can still sign any player you cut for injury reasons as your Franchise Man for next year. Remember to look out for the health of your players and email Chief if one is put on IR. New players to me by 3pm Sunday please as the week starts with nine games at 6pm on Sunday. BUMS on Seats We’ll be at HQ on Sunday from 6pm to see the two live Sky games (Detroit @ Chicago and Minnesota @ Green Bay) but work and New Year’s Eve gets in the way of the NFL season again so if you want to see the final game of the regular season, Sunday Night’s NFC East deciding Dallas at Washington on Channel 4 - watch it yourself! Meantime I hope you had a great Xmas and may I wish you all A Happy New Year.
