2012 Season - Week 12

Perivale Powerhouse

Congratulations to Andy H as the Perivale Pirates had a gargantuan week equalling John Botten for the third highest total ever with 67 points. (AP holds the top two spots with 68 and 70 scored back in 2003). It is H’s ninth visit to the hallowed hall. Every player in H’s team scored with Beenie Wells, Doug Martin and Dez Bryant hitting paydirt twice. Perivale’s promotion push started this week as he jumped from fourth to within seven points of the top spot. It’s not just to congrats to H but spurred on by his superb effort we all deserve credit. With the minimum score this week of 22 points the collective BUMS scored 487 points just one shy of our highest score of the year and equals the 18th highest average (30.44) points per owner set back in week 11 of 2010. Well done H, well done everyone. Most Popular/Unpopular teams As we continue to analyse Trading Day 2, Tampa Bay were the most popular team with 3 players added (Aaron signed Coach Greg Schiano, Chief signed kicker Conner Barth and Andy H signed RB Doug Martin). Denver, Houston and Seattle added two players each. Pittsburgh were the most unpopular losing two players when Johnnie cut WR Antonio “Not so downtown” Brown and George releasing RB Rashard Mendenhall. Chief signed Oakland’s WR Denarious Moore so all NFL teams are now represented on BUMS rosters with Jacksonville, Miami, Oakland and Tennessee sneaking in with one a piece while the most rostered team is New England with eight players while Atlanta & New Orleans place seven players a piece and Green Bay & Houston six. Cuts by draft round No matter which round you are selected in, you can still be cut. As mentioned last week 10 players signed on TD1 were cut, while John cut another first rounder Matt Cassel making four that have been cut this year. H cut second round pick Maurice Jones-Drew who is hobbled by injury (the third second rounder to go) and three third rounders were also cut at TD2 making over half the third round picks in the draft seeing their marching orders. Injuries As mentioned last week Cheryl lost Denver Running back Willis McGahee to a broken leg and torn MCL and he was put on IR so she replaced him with Denver rookie Ronnie Hillman. Now it’s John’s turn to find a replacement as his running back Andre Brown was placed on IR by the Giants. Get his replacement to me by 11pm Thursday if you want him to play for you this weekend. Keep an eye on your roster as it is your responsibility to advise Chief if one of your players is put on IR. BUMS on Seats We’ll be at HQ on Sunday from 6pm for two more live Sky games (Seattle @ Chicago & Pittsburgh @ Baltimore). As Marcus is 21 on Monday we will not be gathering to see the Sunday Night game but we will be back at H’s for our regular Tuesday Night helping of the BBC’s coverage of MNF as The Giants travel to Washington in a key NFC East game. Call if you are planning to come so hosts can cater for you.
