2012 Season - Week 11
Trading Day 2
Due to work, holidays and playing University gridiron, plus the displacement of the BUMS around not only the country but the world we had our smallest turn out for any BUMS draft or trading day last Sunday. Thanks to Aaron, Cheryl, H and Ashley (Aaron’s girlfriend and Willoughby Wolves Cheerleader) who helped Chief cover all the proxy trades which had been emailed in. In the end we had four BUMS present and six trading by email. Those 10 BUMS cut 23 players, though one was re-signed by his original owner (Johnnie re-took Philip Rivers) and one was signed by another owner (Darren Sproles was cut by H and signed by Chief). Unsurprisingly all players taken at TD1 who had not scored (mentioned in last week’s newsletter) were cut – in fact 10 players taken on TD1 got the boot. See the full trades attached. Hope you got rid of who you didn’t want and got who you wanted. Both of Mark’s trades don’t take effect until next week as they featured Dolphins who had played on the Thursday before TD2. Remember from now on you only have the chance to change a player if he is placed on IR by his NFL team. If he’s a franchise player you will still have to pay him which means Aaron and Craig better hope that doesn’t happen to them as they have no budget left having both spent $10m on their current rosters. Keep an eye on your roster as it is your responsibility to advise Chief if one of your players is put on IR. Remember each week starts with a Thursday Night game so you need to get your new man to Chief by 11pm on Thursday for him to count in that weekend’s action.
Trading Day 2 – So what?
The always fascinating quick examination of how successful peoples trades are shows Craig was the most successful with a plus 15 differential. Though I suspect Craig was playing for this award as both the players he cut (Ponder and Hauschka) were on bye weeks so he was never going to fall into negative equity. In the end the first pick of TD2 Peyton Manning threw three TDs and his new kicker Adam Vinatieri added one field goal and three PATs. Aaron and Marcus finished on plus six. However one of the other Coopers saw their new kicker outscored by the old one by a point and the Tight End they cut (Vernon Davis)...
