Draftermath 2012

A Huge Thanks

With 8 BUMS present at HQ plus Craig, George, Ron and Wayne joining us cyberwise three quarters of the BUMS had a fun/frustrating evening drafting live. Many thanks to Mark for his techno-help and Cher for the food. Under instruction Johnnie drafted for John, H for AP, Marcus for David S and Chief for Dave G. Hope you got who you wanted. The Experts Choice This year the draft (attached) has been analysed by 7 NFL Fantasy Experts including ESPN and NFL.com who have predicted how many points each player will score this year. Craig has the best backfield in the BUMS with LeSean McCoy(89) & Stephen Jackson (50) putting up 139 points. Johnnie is second on 135 from Arian Foster (87) and Jamaal Charles (48) while Daz is third on 122 points from Ray Rice (77) & BenJarvus Green-Ellis (45). Marcus has the best receiving fleet with 159 points from Jimmy Graham (61), Greg Jennings (54) and Brandon Lloyd (44) outscoring Craig’s 153 points from Calvin Johnson (74), Miles Austin (47) and Greg Olsen (32) while H is third with 151 from Dez Bryant (53) and Giant duo Hakeem Nicks & Victor Cruz (49 each). Although the experts don’t have him with a top three backfield or receiving corps they say Chief will retain his crown saying his squad will put up 603 points. Daz will be second and Johnnie third. In the Conference they say H’s air-attack will win with 533 points. Along with Aaron and George they will replace Dave G, AP and Cheryl in the Big League say the experts. This Year Last Year Looking at how this year’s teams shape up based on the 2011 scores, Dave G will win with 605 points (no surprise given his draft strategy), 10 more than Daz with Craig third on 505. Last year’s scores have Mark being relegated along with AP and Cheryl. Agreeing with the experts H will win the Conference with 543 points, 7 points ahead of Aaron with George also going up. The Draftermath table shows what should happen… but will it? The Unwanted SuperBowl winning coach Tom Coughlin leads the 2012 Unwanted squad which includes 99 point QB Tony Romo & Sebastian Janikowski who kicked 129 points last season. Three old favourites would be your receivers:- Antonio Gates, Donald Driver and Tony Gonzalez. The best undrafted team for $9m would have scored 500 points last year, good enough for fourth in the Premiership & to win in the Conference. The rejected team is attached. Trading Day 1 If you’ve already decided that you have drafted the wrong man and you want to change a player you’ll have to wait til before the week 6 games on October 14th. Remember if you want to cut a franchise man you still have to pay him for the rest of his contract. BUMS on Seats The season starts on Wednesday when the Cowboys travel to the Superbowl champ Giants but we have a viewing stalemate as Sky and the NFL cannot agree terms. This may be a time for purchasing NFL Gameplan so stay tuned for viewing updates.
