2011 Season - Week 3

Fame Again

For just the second time ever the BUMS have put up 3 consecutive weeks with at least one owner entering the Scoring Hall of Fame (2004 weeks 8-10). That’s the second longest streak but in 2002 we went 7 weeks from week 10 with an owner in the Hall of Fame very week. Off the back of his seventh visit last week Chief tied Andy H for 4th most visits this week but more impressive was Ron who answered last weeks challenge. After Craig visited the Marble Halls for the fist time Chief asked whether Ron or George could break their duck. Having scored just 30 points total in 2 weeks, Ron shocked everyone with a 59 point week behind 18 points from Jermichael Finley and 12 each from Eli Manning and Ryan Matthews. Ron went from bottom to fourth in the Premiership in a week. His 9 year wait is over – your turn next week George? Game of Two Halves In week 1 Minnesota led San Diego 17-7 but lost 17-24, in week two led Tampa Bay 17-0 and lost 20-24 and this week led Detroit 20-0 before losing 23-26 in overtime. After half-time this season the Vikings have been outscored 67-6! Flip/Reverse: Buffalo were down 21-3 to Oakland last week and 21-0 this week against New England and won both games, the first time in the history of the NFL a team has come from 18 points behind or more to win 2 weeks in a row. BUMS Team Of The Month And already, in 3 weeks, NFL September is over. In a new monthly feature we look at the BUMS team of the month. For $10m this team would have given you 230 points in just 3 weeks! HC Jim Schwartz (Detroit & California) $0.5m 18pts, K Jason Hanson (Detroit & Langley) $0.5m 35, QB Tom Brady (New England & Langley) $2m 33, RBs LeSean McCoy (Phili & Leamington) $2m 30, Darren McFadden (Oakland & Tring) $2m 24, Receivers Calvin Johnson (Detroit & Leamington) $2m 36, Rob Gronkowski (New England & Langley) $0.5m 30 and Miles Austin (Dallas & Weymouth) $0.5m 24pts. Nice! Who from your squad will make the October team? BUMS on Seats. On Sunday we will be at HQ for Detroit @ Dallas followed by New England’s trip to Oakland with the first kickoff at 6pm. The late Sunday Night Game (NY Jets @ Baltimore) will be seen on Monday evening at HQ from 6:30pm and we’ll be at Johnnies on Tuesday from 6:30pm to see the Monday Night Tampa Bay Indianapolis game. All welcome, just let us know if you are coming as we may be cooking.
