Draftermath 2009
The Experts Choice
This year the draft (attached) has been analysed by 7 NFL Fantasy Experts including ESPN and NFL.com who have predicted how many points each player will score this year. Johnny has the best backfield in the BUMS with Adrian Peterson (94) & Beanie Wells (46) scoring 140 points. Mark and Cheryl are both close behind on 138 points from Westbrook (70) & Johnson (68) and Jones-Drew (84) & White (54) respectively. Chief has the best receiver fleet scoring 188 points from Moss (78), Fitzgerald (77) and Cotchery (33). Defending Champion Wayne is second 33 points behind with 155 from Johnson (66), Wayne (58) and Hester (31) while Aaron is third with 143 points from Jennings (53), Smith (51) and Welker (39). The experts believe Johnny has the best team totalling 531 points (but they had him predicted to win last year as well) while George will win the Conference with 505 points. Along with Ron and Rookie Craig they will replace AP, Dave G and John in the Big League. It’s going to be close though, Aaron will outscore AP by 4 points to remain safe while Craig finishes 1 TD above Cheryl to leave her in the Conference for another season.
This Year Last Year
Looking at how this year’s teams shape up based on the 2008 scores it’s going to be a great season with Dave G beating Daz by 4 points atop the Premiership even though the experts have Dave G relegated! Based on last year’s scores all three Cooper boys will be relegated while Cheryl will win the Conference! Rookie Craig & George will also go up along with Mrs Cooper. The Draftermath table shows what should happen… but will it?
The Unwanted
A number of stars were not drafted including QB Donovan McNabb, RB Reggie Bush and the WR Hines Ward. The best undrafted team would have cost $10m and would have scored a superb 545 points last year, good enough to win the Premiership by 47 points & to win in the Conference 100! The rejected team is attached.
Trading Day 1
If you want to change a player you’ll have to wait til before the week 6 games on October 18th. Dave G already needs to change a player as his franchise man Plaxico Burress has been jailed for 2 years. Remember if you want to cut a franchise man you still have to pay him for the rest of his contract.
A Huge Thanks
I hope you all enjoyed Draft Night, I believe those on line had a good laugh at Chief’s financial miscalculation which meant he could only draft a half million dollar QB (who may not start), while those who were present enjoyed a great BBQ courtesy of Cheryl and Mark. Many thanks guys and extra thanks to Mark for heading up the IT department.
BUMS on Seats
The season starts on Thursday 10th when the Steelers host the Titans with the full schedule kicking in on Sunday 14th when we will be at HQ from 6pm to see the action unfold.
