Draftermath 2008

The Experts Choice

This year the draft (attached) has been analysed by 8 NFL Fantasy Experts including ESPN and NFL.com. Awarding 1 point for the highest rated player at each position, 2 for second and so on they report that this year Ron has the best backfield in the BUMS with Tomlinson (1) & Lynch (11) rating at 12. AP is 2nd with 18 points - Jackson (5) & Gore (13) & Johnny 3rd on 21 (Peterson-2, McFadden-19). Johnny also has the best receiver fleet rating at just 41 from Colston (9), Marshall (10) and Williams (22). Just behind is brother Mark with 43 from Wayne (4), Gates (14) & Cooley (25) & Wayne is 14 points behind courtesy of Holt (15), Boldin(19) & Johnson (23). The experts believe Johnny has the best team (totalling just 89 rating points) while Marcus will win the Conference, with Aaron and George also replacing Ron, Dave G and Cheryl in the Premiership. The 8 websites also predicted how many points each NFL player will score in 2008. Based on this Johnny will win the Premiership with 530 points. Bad news for Sophomore Mark H, Cheryl & Dave G as the predictions say they will be relegated. Again Marcus, Aaron & George will get promoted with Marcus again winning the Conference. This Year Last Year Looking at how this year’s teams shape up based on the 2007 scores it’s going to be a great season with Daz and Dave G tying atop the Premiership even though the experts have Dave G relegated! Based on last year’s scores Johnny, Gareth & Mark H will be relegated while once again Marcus, Aaron & George will go up. Remember the Conference also includes John Botten’s half million dollar wonders and David Stamp’s side which features 4 rookies. The Draftermath table shows what should happen on paper, but they don’t play the games on paper, do they. What’s in a name? As a result of drafting 4 rookies David S has re-named the French Sticks, the French Virgins whilst Gareth has decided that as he hasn’t won the Papas Fritas since 2002 Chiefs Champs* (*A Division of Langley Raptors inc.) will now just be called Langley Raptors. Finally having changed his name legally Cincinnati wide receiver Chad Johnson will from now on be known by his new name Chad Ocho Cinco. All 3 name changes are fact! The Unwanted A number of stars were not drafted including QB Phillip Rivers, RB Willis McGahee and the afore mentioned WR Chad Ocho Cinco. The best undrafted team would have cost $9.5m and would have scored 467 points last year, good enough to finish 4th in the Premiership & to win in the Conference. The rejected team is attached. BUMS on Seats We are at BUMS HQ from 6pm tomorrow and again on Tuesday at HQ and at Johnny’s on Monday evening. Let me know if you can join us this weekend & good luck for 2008.
