Draftermath 2005

The Experts Choice

Thanks to all for a most enjoyable/frustrating Saturday evening. A huge thanks to Cheryl for the Lasagne and Mark for the Pie. The draft (attached) has, as usual, been analysed by 8 NFL Fantasy Experts including CBS, FoxSports and the Gridiron Guru. Awarding 1 point for the highest rated player at each position, 2 for second and so on they report that Mark has the best backfield in the BUMS with James (4) and Johnson (11) rating at 15. Paul (McAllister (7) & Green (14) is 2nd (21pts) with Johnny 3rd on 26 points. Wayne has the best receiver fleet with just 40 points from Harrison (3), Jackson (14) and Fitzgerald (23). Just one point behind is Ron courtesy of Gonzalez (7), R Williams (16) & Coles (18). Cheryl has the third best fleet with 52 points. The experts believe Ron has the best team (totalling just 100 points) while Phil will win the Conference. See the Draftermath table which also ranks the teams based on last years scores. This Year Last Year Looking at how this years teams shape up based on the 2004 scores provides contradictory evidence. Ron will get relegated and Dave G will win the Premiership even though the experts think he’ll be relegated. Aaron will win the Conference and so he and Dave G must hope they are as successful as last year but beware this analysis showed that Daz would win the Conference (he did) although it also suggested Paul had picked the best Premiership and he ended with the worst score. As mentioned the full table is attached. A Priest is de-frocked A number of stars were not selected yesterday but the biggest surprise was a lack of interest in Priest Holmes. This guy has scored more points than any other player the last 3 years averaging 132 points per season! This team of un-chosen players would have scored 517 points last year, good enough to finish 3rd in the Premiership & 2nd in the Conference. The unwanted team are QB Aaron Brooks (88), RB’s Holmes (90) & Curtis Martin (84), Receivers Marcus Pollard (36), Joey Galloway (36) & Donte Stallworth (30), Kicker Doug Brien (105) and Coach Marv Lewis (48). BUMS on Seats So the scene is set for the Kick Off Classic as Oakland travel to New England on Thursday night. We will be at BUMS HQ on Friday from 6:30pm to see the game in full and then on Sunday from 6pm to see Denver @ Miami followed by Arizona @ The Giants. Let me know if you can join us. Channel 5 will show Sunday Night game highlights before the live Monday Night Games so we will record them & get together on Tuesday evenings to watch them. Scores will be sent out on Monday & updated later in the week. Good luck for 2005.
