Draftermath 2004
The Experts Choice
Thanks to all for a most enjoyable/frustrating Saturday evening. The draft (attached) has, as usual, been analysed by 4 NFL Fantasy Experts from ESPN, CBS, FoxSports and Gill Brandt the NFL Fantasy expert. Last year they correctly predicted Wayne would win the Papas Fritas Trophy. Given 1 point for the highest rated player at each position, 2 for second and so on they report that Mark has the best backfield in the BUMS with Tomlinson (2) and James (8) rating at 10. Paul (Green-3 & Barlow-12) is 2nd (15pts) with Johnny and Phil equal 3rd on 19 and H 5th with 22. Chief has the best receiver fleet with just 27 points from Owens (4), Jackson (9) and A Johnson (14). Stampy (R Moss-1, S Moss-11 & K Johnson-24) is 2nd with 36pts. Marcus has a great 1-2 punch from Harrison (2) and Holt (3) but is let down by 2002 Franchise man Northcutt (47) who needs to return more punts for TD’s. Marcus has 52 points, 2 more than Johnny in 4th. Cheryl rounds out the top 5 with 59 points. Johnny has the best team (totalling just 100 points) while Chief will win the Papas Fritas. See the Draftermath table which also ranks the teams based on last years scores.
This Year Last Year
Looking at how this years teams shape up based on the 2003 scores Paul appears to have picked the best Premiership team with a total of 486 (2003 points) while Daz is the Conference’s winner, his team scoring 503 points. As mentioned the full table is attached and shows that like last year David Stamp’s team is the lowest scorer, but it does include a rookie & two players who were injured much of last year.
A Papas Fritas Full of Rejects
After we have drafted our 128 BUMS players there is a good team of unchosen players who would have scored 443 points last year. That was good enough last year to finish 5th in the Premiership and 2nd in the Conference. The unwanted team are QB Jeff Garcia (97), RB’s Anthony Thomas (36) & Richie Anderson (30), Receivers Tai Streets (42), Darnerian McCants (36) & Ike Hilliard (30), Kicker Jon Reed (100) and Coach Jeff Fisher (72).
