2003 Season - Week 15
Championship Picture Becoming Clearer
Over the last month Paul and Gareth have scored well. Paul has averaged a useful 30 points per week, and Gareth an even better 39 points per week. The only problem is Wayne keeps scoring slightly more and now has a 29 point lead in the chase for the Papas Fritas.
The Great Escape?
Brett Favre threw 4 TD passes as Johnny’s offence finally woke up but can he outdo his brother who fell into the drop zone in the final few weeks last year only to escape on the last play of the season? Johnny is currently 19 points behind David Stamp but has McAllister and Reid to go while David has Chambers still to play.
Promotion Places Still Up For Grabs
Dave G has averaged 36 points a week over the last 6 weeks and seems to have won the Conference as he has a 67 point lead. However the other two places are still up for grabs. John, H and Cheryl are separated by just 9 points. Aaron has dropped off the pace and needs big games from Aaron Brooks and Ricky Williams in the Sunday and Monday night games.
Postseason Takes Shape
In the real world New England have won the AFC East and Kansas City have won the West. They are both 12-2 but NE hold the tie-breaker for home field advantage. Indianapolis are the only other AFC team in the play-offs but they are just 1 game ahead of Tennessee (10-4). In the North, Cincinnati hold the tie breaker over Baltimore (both 8-6). Denver (9-5) hold the 2nd wildcard spot behind Tennessee while Miami (8-5) are the only other team still in the hunt. In the NFC St Louis (11-3) & Carolina (9-5) have won their divisions while The Eagles (10-3) lead Dallas (9-5) in the East. Minnesota and Green Bay both have 8-6 records in the North. Seattle (8-6), Tampa Bay (7-7) and New Orleans (6-7) are all still alive.
BUMS on Seats
Yet once again Christmas starts to get in the way of the end of the NFL season. When will Santa learn? Tonight there is no BUMS gathering as Aaron is performing in his school choir’s festive concert. We are back at H’s on Wednesday from 6pm to see a key battle as Miami try to keep pace with Denver when they host Philadelphia who try to stay ahead of St Louis for NFC Home Field advantage. Week 16 starts at HQ on Sunday from 6pm with the AFC North leading Cincinnati (can it be true) travelling to St Louis. The battle for NFC Home Field advantage then continues as it is followed by San Francisco @ Philadelphia. On Monday we are at Johnny’s to see a key AFC match-up as Denver travel to Indianapolis and we are back to Johnny’s on Tuesday December 3rd to see if The Raiders can continue their roll of spoilers (after last nights win over Baltimore) as they host Green Bay.
