2003 Season - Week 13

Time to Vote

Thanksgiving evening saw much Turducken eaten (thanks to Cher) and much debate about who should be short listed to enter the BUMS Players Hall of Fame. Introduced last year this where you owners get to choose players that have made a significant contribution to your enjoyment of watching the NFL and have enhanced your BUMS experience. The inaugural inductee’s were Marshall Faulk, Brett Favre, Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith, Gary Anderson, Wesley Walls and Terrell Owens. This year we will select 4 more players to join them from the list attached. The only criteria is that they must have appeared on a BUMS roster in at least 5 seasons. Please rank your top 5 from 1st to 5th. (1st will score 10 points, 2nd gets 7, 5 points for 3rd, 3 for 4th and 1 point for 5th). The top 4 when the points are tallied will then be inducted. Please submit your votes by December 15th. 5 times in one night The BUMS became TV celebrities on Sky’s Thanksgiving doubleheader. After an email sent to Sky to thank Cheryl for cooking out Turducken feast was read out on air studio guest and former Eagle Cecil Martin expressed an interest in being an honorary BUM. At various times during the rest of the show the BUMS were mentioned four more times! Ron is Robbed, Dave does good again While our overall scoring has been steadily growing we still haven’t had a Hall of Fame performance this year. Ron was unlucky to finish week 13 just one point shy of the 50, and this after Dave G missed the Hall by 2 points last week. Dave had another great week and fell just one TD short but perhaps more importantly he has opened up a 54 point gap at the top of the Conference. His main weapon is not returned to health Marshall Faulk (6 TD’s in the last month) but fellow Ram Jeff Wilkins who has scored 123 points at the 3/4 point of the season and is set to score 164 points. The season high record is 162 points scored by another kicker, Gary Anderson back in 1998 when he too played for Dave. In a bid to avoid being replaced by Dave G there was a bit of a jailbreak at the bottom as Ron, Stampy, AP & Johnny all put up over 30 points and Daz hit 27 leaving Phil in peril with just 4 weeks to go. BUMS on Seats Tonight we are at Johnny’s from 6:30pm to see Tampa Bay at Jacksonville then from 6pm on Wednesday we are at H’s to celebrate Marcus’ birthday and see The Titans @ The Jets. H is doing Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding so let him know if you are going. That will make six games the BUMS will have seen live in week 13 - sweet! Week 14 starts at HQ on Sunday from 6pm with 2 great top of the table clashes as Miami take on New England and Tennessee play Indi. There are 3 other top of the table clashes in another great NFL week.
